Its a little difficult to read that jagged, auto translated quote, but it seems as if Visnovsky is embracing the possibility of going to arbitration and getting off Long Island. What a shocker....

It just goes to show that the perception of the Islanders around the league is still piss poor. If Visnovsky doesn't want to play on the Islanders, I hope he wins his arbitration and gets sent back to Anaheim. I'd rather have it happen sooner rather than later so it gives Snow time to find a replacement before camp.

I feel terrible for you Isels I mean every year I say to myself that how much longer can they be a floormat, they are going to surpirse everyone soon. And despite how hard you guys try to build a contending team the players screw you over. I really hope things get better, it would make for an even crazier Atlantic division if all the teams were pushing as hard as the rest did last year. Best of luck guys.

Obviously Visnovsky knows his capabilities best and realizes he is no longer a defenseman that can help the Islanders get better, and potentially make the playoffs. If Visnovsky does not have the confidence in himself, why should the Islanders? Lets hope this motivates Garth to go out and get a solid defenseman instead of someone who views himself as a has-been.

Thank You but the Isles do not try hard enough to build a contending team. That is the problem. Philly tries hard to build a contender.

Visnovsky is beeing absurd, outside looking in (wings fan) you guys deserve better. Truly, your collection of young forwards is to be admired, your going the right direction in a tough market and an equally tough division it would have been easy to trade all the kids for aging vets to fight for a seven or eight seed year after year, but instead you guys took your lumps and now are ready to take a step up. If Visnovsky doesnt want to be a part of that, dont let the door hit him on the way out.
As far as Satan, he is the type of medium reward, low risk filler for a third line that you guys need, would be a smart signing. Just dont start the Yashin rumors too, lol.

That is the most ridiculous comment i think ive read. Really!! Then explained what Garth should do to try harder. Do you actually believe Garth doesnt want to win He had to start from scratch in 2008. He has build the second best prospect pool and he did in 3 years. He has made several attempts in signing free agents. No free agents wants to play at the poopy arena and yes the team has been bad for the last 20 years. The only criticism i have on Garth, he hasn't been able to bring in effective veterans to help development the young players such as a March Recchi, Jamie Lagunburner etc...

The sh*t building, and the jokes that are the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County, are going to make some players not want to come here until the team is already good- it is what it is, and it's why Wang should probably just announce the move (whether temporary until they build a building, or permanent) to Brooklyn in 2015, ASAP. In this guy's case, though, I think the bottom line is that either his wife is from California, or really likes it there, and so they're looking for a way to stay in Anaheim for his last season. No one would play in Slovakia if they could make NHL money (only Swedes seem to be the exceptions who like "home" more than American dollars), and I'm guessing if he has to play here to get that paycheck, he will.

Give up, my friend....I have LONG been telling everyone that in 2006, when he took over, this team was WORSE than an expansion team- a vomit pile of overpaid cr*p, and lousy prospects. A team that was built to "make the playoffs", and then get held upside down by its ankles and spanked in the first round every year. He had to tear it down, then rebuild it from scratch, after the last gasp that was Ryan Smyth left the building. Good luck with that, though.....some people seem to not understand the concept that Long Island's total lack of cooperation on the building issue is a big part of why they have had to rebuild solely on the shoulders of children- how many more players do you expect him to trade for that don't want to play in our dump, before some of you get the picture?

Your joking right? You really think Charles and Garth have done everything they can to build a winner? Have you seen who the coach is? Other teams manage to bring in better players with lousy building and small payrolls. Maybe FA's would take the Isles seriously if the owner did not fire a Cup winning GM and replace him with a backup goalie?

Miroslav Satan?????

This would be The Perfect Summer Signing for the Isles. He hasnt played a full season since 2008. And has been out of the NHL since 2009-2010. In fact, I believe he's been retired from Professional hockey since then. Pushing 40 yr old.

And you all thought Isles had rid themselves of bad habbits & were turning the page.

Here's an idea. Why not Sign, Guerin, Yashin and Satan. We'll call it "The Has Been Line"

Isles will pack the NVMC. Retro is in vogue. Especially with Isles management

Just another Typical Islander Summer.

Seriously.
You know what. This is so absurd. I dont even believe it.

wow!! either way it sounds like the visnovsky deal isnt going to work out for the isles. we now have another hole to fill on defense.

this is incredible.

Not to worry.

I'm sure there are plenty of retired Former NHL Defensemen out there that would love to come back for one more season. Chris Chelios comes to mind or how about Larry Robinson?

I would not expect anything else with the Islanders. Garth finally makes a trade and is so excited to just see it fall flat on his face. I guess he will not make another trade now for another 15 years. Oh well Garth you tried to be a big boy and it did not work.

I for one hopes he goes back to the Ducks and the Islanders will get compensated for it. Who knows could be the best thing for them at this point.

As for Satan I would welcome him back he actualyl played decently with the Islanders and if he can still score about 20 goals well then that is good enough for me.

It's unreal the BS the Isles fans have to put up with. What gives Visnovsky the right to file this grievence? I'd love to hear what Fehr has to say about this.

He said that he had a limited not trade clause with 10 teams on the list. And you guessed it. NY Islanders were not one of those teams.

Matias Strozyk via twitter: Lubomir Visnovsky told Sport.sk that he might file for arbitration after he was traded to the Islanders, who weren’t on his 10 team trade list. Might end up back with the Ducks. Visnovsky also said that Islanders GM Garth Snow once called him to say they were negotiating with Miro Satan.

He wills ay nothing this is the Islanders. It is just the normal in regards to players and or trades they have that right to not want to come here. I mean personally if the clown dont want to be here then so be it dont come. I dont want someone who does not want to be here. Even though I am sure that makes up half the team right now and coaches

Agreed. Without free agent options and players nixing trade proposals to come here, the Isles are only left with the AHL, College Ranks and Juniors as viable options. It is and has been a complete internal rebuild which as I've said for some time now, will take longer than your typical rebuild.

This team needs to make their move fast. I don't like Barclays as a long term solution, but I'd pull up stakes and go there for 2-3 years in a heartbeat.

Did Snow know about this when the trade was made? We need Satan like a hole in the head.
