Condensed sked means injuries will be key for any team this year. I think that could be another reason why the Sens are saving their cap space.

The cap savings are well worth watching. I believe the Sens front office is convinced they have a solid team and they are an elite goal scorer away from being a contender.

Zetterlund did not put up great numbers after being traded to Ottawa. But, I think most fans believe his style of game and size makes him a great fit for the Sens and we should expect him to have a strong season playing top 6. Cozens was also very solid.

Maybe the front office wants to see half a season before making another deal.

Imagine where is this fan base will be if the Sens get off to a strong start and sit in a contending position all season long.

I love the fact the Sens have scheduled two preseason games in Quebec City.

We are the second choice in a huge Francophone hockey crazy market. For years, the Sens have made huge money off of their rivalry with the Leafs. Calculating and cultivating an even deeper rivalry with Les Canadiens is more pure gold. Just watch the preseason broadcast interest when the Sens play Montreal in QC.

I have been a huge Sens fan from day 1. I think the Sens playing some regular season games in QC is a no brainer. Great for Canadian hockey and great for the Sens from a business perspective. Being a dominant second in fan support in the wild and crazy Ontario and Quebec hockey markets is great business.

Let's face up to the reality that hockey tickets are getting beyond the capacity of Joe Fan to remain a full season ticket owner. Most of us can only justify buying partial season packages of a pair of 6 or 12...maybe 18 games. Should I be against the idea that one of those packages includes (for example) 6 games being played in QC. Why should I care if my seat is occupied by a bum in Kanata or QC.

My father in law was a huge Nordiques fan. He was also a huge Sens fan. He died 20 years ago. He would be so thrilled with the Sens playing Montreal in QC.

Sens have 14 back to back games this season. Montreal has 16. Most of the teams are between 13 and 16. Calgary only has 9.

Those games are going to be key this year.

Nope. I don't want to see any regular season games go to any other city . This is the OTTAWA Senators. Building a fan base base in Quebec City is an absolute no-go. They will not cheer for the Sens. Build the base in Gatineau if you can. All we would hear about is QC trying to steal away the Sens over time. It is a slippery slope.
