Exceptions happen. For example Dallas will need to move out a big salary. Robertson is supposedly available. Dallas would want entry level players, picks and prospects in return. Would Sens have an interest?

Yes, Robertson would be a good addition, but......
1) He would have to be willing to sign long term with Ottawa (1 year left on contract). And it would cost Ottawa a player like Batherson OR Pinto +++. Dallas is not giving up Robertson for a few scrubs, some picks, and a few prospects. Dallas is only a couple of million over the cap. A Matt Dumba buyout or trade eliminate that issue, and Dallas keeps Robertson.

So the question is , for impact players, what pieces are Ottawa willing to part with.
