Well said Trevor. I wish there were writers to cover all the teams, but the community here seems to be (overall) pretty welcoming and you can get a ton of engagement.
Cheers! |

Thanks for what you manage to produce, Trevor.
I've watched the numbers for the Canucks blog participation skyrocket, and can't quite figure out why the Flames interaction isn't similarly there-- other than some predictable but light-hearted sniping at Oilers fans-- but in the end you're only as good as your followers can take what you've laid down and make something else of it.
And Canucks nation is nothing but a bunch of doomsayers right now, which can also be fun (in a drive past a serious accident, kind of way).
I do think that participation numbers will improve here. Especially given the more in-depth level of coverage in the past few articles posted. |

Great read....
Now, it's apparent Anderson is ready to move on since the team and he are far apart on numbers. Any armchair gm's want to give an idea what a trade would look like? |

This felt like a goodbye post and yet, that wasn't explicitly said or did I miss something?
Thanks for all your hard work Trevor, always enjoy reading your articles here or on CHN |

I find hockeybuzz comment sections the easiest to read and engage in.
the flamesnation site gets lots of comments but is harder to follow as its just a long continuous scroll from the article
and the CHN, there's something wrong as nothing happens when I click comment.

Thanks Trevor! I for one really enjoy your articles. Keep it up!
Re Andersson trade: I hope a 2026 first, and a young NHL player with upside. Seems fair.
What about offering NYI a ton of pieces for #1 overall (to take Michael Misa) and Anthony Duclair? Not sure they'd be open to it... But I'm thinking an offer like this might get their attention?: Zary+Andersson+ 3 firsts (#18, #32, and next year's pick) + a 2027 3rd rounder + Stormgren or Kerins or Suniev + two of our D prospects (but not Parekh).
I feel like the Flames need a superstar like Misa (is likely going to be). And this is a massive payment, but how else can we get one?

What about San Jose's #2? Anderson, Flames 2 first rounders this year, and a 2nd next. |

You guys gotta be realistic here. Love these trade scenarios from a Flames point of view. Who in their right mind would give up a 1st or 2nd overall with Andersen & our later 1st rounders? Andersen is basically a mid 1st rounder & decent prospect for value. He's a UFA in 1 year. Most teams have ok prospects like Stromgren, Kerins & Suniev in their pipelines. You arent getting either of those picks without Parekh on the table & Coronato & our 1st rounders.
We have to face reality we wont be getting a top 3 pick for this rebuild. Look at this way, if we were to do a redraft in 2019 when we got Wolf in the 7th round, Wolf would be a top 3 pick knowing what we know now. Franchise goalies are so hard to come by & drafting is voodoo for them. He was our lottery win. This kid is amazing. Parekh might just be that Hudson D Montreal have & a star in the making. When he gets acclimatized to the NHL game, we have ourselves a game changer on the blueline. We need that center & Andersen + 18 + something else might be able to get us into a later top 10 pick where we may get a pretty darn good center but he will be a few years away (in time for new building perhaps). Patience, we have 2 more darts to throw in the first round next year where the draft is better & deeper. If Andersen is willing to go to Buffalo, perhaps him & our #18 gets us either Peterka or maybe that #9 pick. |

Understood Kevin R, but that's alot of pieces for 1 player. Duclair is a dump for them. Read the whole offer again. Zary, Andersson, 3 first rounders, 1 third rounder. Suniev or Stormgren. AND 2 of our D prospects (Mews, Brzustewicz for example, or Poirier, or Etienne, or Solovyev). That's a HAUL. |
