“We’re going to go with Alex Lyon,” Lalonde said of his starting goalie for Wednesday. It will be the third straight game in which No. 1 goalie Ville Husso is not between the pipes.
Walman is also a GO for tomorrow.........Going to be interesting to watch.
One switch that was evident during practice Tuesday was the decision to move Joe Veleno up to the club’s top forward unit alongside Dylan Larkin and Alex DeBrincat. |

Jeremy Laura: Runnin’ with the Devils - Wings face New Jersey on Pizza night - Jeremy Laura
OK, SOOOO.....re-visit my Army days, I was a platoon leader for an Armour company. We had M1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks, internal comms system which was also an external system. You could attach a Sony Walk-Man into the "J-Box" and play music over the intercom.....HOWEVER, if you failed to set it up correctly, your music would also broadcast when you keyed the mic for external communication.
Each tank had some sort of soundtrack for different events. For qualification gunnery, I had my loader build a rockin' mix tape for my tank (named her "Brigadoon" after the mythical Scottish town that was only seen by a chosen few.....). As we entered the gunnery range (by simulating an attack on opposing forces, through an Engineer breach in an obstacle belt), we were JAMMIN' to.....wait for it.........."Runnin' With The Devil"!! Post-gunnery round #1, my team and I sat in the de-brief, our battalion commander came in and royally lit me up because I was blastin' tunes over his 'net. Worth every bite he took outta my butt.
With that behind us..........

SRV...that dude.. just...WOW. Jimmy Vaughn's amazing as well, Fabulous Thunderbirds! Los Lonely Boys are another jammin' Texas band. The soundtrack going into Iraq was hefty as well, Metallica, Rob Zombie, VH... The Doors, and CCR. Some great tunes. I've found myself drawn to the Texas sound more now: Fab T'Birds, LLB, Roger Cregar....funny, since my last conussion, the harder stuff can make me dizzy...Neuro said that's normal, though.
I did just under 30 years, I miss it sometimes. It was an honour to serve my homeland, many today still serve their country....my Family paid a price. Whilst I sincerely appreciate the gratitude, our Families pay such a high price; missed events, Holidays, major life events.....fearing "the knock on the door". Until my son joined, I couldn't imagine that fear, but now it's all too clear to me.
I'm thankful for being in this country and for being able to serve. I'm thankful and blessed to have such an incredible Family (I don't know what I did to deserve them....). I'm thankful for my friends (and this REALLY cool hockey blogger-dude that keeps me thinking!). And, despite the trials and tribulations, I'm thankful for the doggone Wings!
Y'all have a peaceful Thanksgiving surrounded with Family and friends. Please take a moment to ask for the safety of our military folks who can't be home this time of year....and for the Families who have an empty seat at their tables.

Dude...that brings back memories. We found ourselves in a bit of a pickle in Anbar and needed to hitch a ride. Bradleys pulled up, back opens and all you could hear was Runnin' with the Devil at probably 120 decibels from an old school boom box. I was never so happy to hear that song!
Heading to my first Wings game in a few years tonight. My daughter is obsessed with Luke Hughes (and the Hughes brothers in general), so I'm looking forward to seeing them in person. |

Thanks brother. Jimmy vaughan told the story that young Stevie used one of Jimmys riffs. He told little brother not to do it again. SRV did and the gig ended in the alley |

Mech Infantry & Cav Scouts….some of THE craziest bubbas on the battle-field. I started out as a 19D Cav Scout because I’d gone to Ranger School way back in the day (1988), so naturally I was supposed to be a fit. Transitioned to straight Armour crewman on the M1….the feeling of invincibility riding the beast….just can’t explain it. Those Bradley boys have the TOW missile system so they can reach out almost anywhere. But those dudes are nuts. Straight-up certifiable! When my tank platoon went to a Mech Infantry company, the commander was astounded at the combined arms lethality of tanks & Brads….baddest dudes there is, Blue. Bad. Bad. Bubbas!!!
Enjoy the game tonight!! Nothing better than being with Family at a hockey game!! Y’all be safe, my friend. |

Somewhere there’s a recording of the Vaughan brothers playing in Austin screaming at each other on stage as they’re blowing the crowd away with The Sky Is Crying. Friend of mine in Korea had it so I got to listen to the show. They fought the entire show but were insanely jammin’. Those 2 together were magical. |
