This is part of the reason I could see Kakko being traded. I can’t see Drury signing him for 4 plus million bucks right now. He’s done nothing to deserve a raise. They aren’t in a position to give money like this out based on potential. Kakko clock is really ticking imo, and fast. 2-3 years ago it would be a different story

Still not understanding why not put Chytil on LTIR. Why wouldnt we want to create a bit more cap space for ourselves when we need it in March?

I believe the LTIR helps for while the player is out. You don't get extra space down the road form it. Plus if Chytil returns, there could be an adverse impact as you would have then make room cap wise on the roster.

I think it ended up being to avoid injury because we were so banged up and couldn’t make any more callups due to the cap
