Quick heads up. This isn’t going to help teams in the future, the Ilitch family is selling the “District Detroit” land to U of M. Those big paintings of a thriving downtown never turned into anything but parking lots. But, billions were raised to build a new arena. The LED roof that had been approved went away too. That’s a lot of money that didn’t do what it was supposed to. |

Can't really say how this one ends up, would THINK DRW for the win 4-3. Watching the G situation, but not losing sleep over it. Would still like to see Lyon get a game or 2 in. I understand he's not an experienced G, but sitting for ever doesn't help him develop & grow. If he needs a conditioning stint, send him down to GR.
Sad to see DD's not growing as hoped. A lot of areas that hold potential are falling apart for various reasons. Miss old Detroit, Cobo Hall, The Fox, the coney restaurants, the RenCen.....was a hard town with dedicated workers way back in the day. The decay is disheartening... |

"Contrary to expectation, Pinto’s 41-game suspension has been applied retroactively to the Senators’ first game of the season, Friedman reports. That means the clock has already begun on his 41-game absence, and he does not need to sign a contract with Ottawa to begin serving the suspension. That means he will be eligible to return for Ottawa’s 42nd game of the season, a January 21 contest against the Flyers – assuming he’s signed to a contract by then. Coincidentally, Pinto will be eligible to play this season even if he does not sign a contract before the normal December 1 signing deadline for RFAs, says Friedman."
Suspended players still count against the cap, so this doesn't actually help him get signed. Although, if Ottawa knew the investigation was ongoing, holding out till the punishment came down makes a lot more sense.

It only helps in this. Remember with Nylander, there’s the cutoff date in December? How many teams are going to sign him knowing that he can’t play until January. This actually feels like it gives Ottawa some leverage, but someone will still have to have him on the books for a full month without him being able to play

What I’m wondering is, the whole thing was presented as what Detroit would do with bond money. If that money doesn’t go toward what was promised, does the team have to refund it or are they culpable in any way? They made a nice chunk of money selling the property, but if it was bought with bond $ that could become a legal issue |

Remember the LED roof? That was part of the promised package. Almost immediately was taken off the table after the money came in. A friend from Nashville knew the designer. All of a sudden, just gone. The district Detroit issue made the local news and a few of the blogs a couple years ago. This doesn’t help the issue of tax payer funded stadiums. AZ has had a few, wanted a new one one with the new owner. NYI played in Brooklyn until they got one. New Ottawa owner is now non committal about a new building |

Lyon is very experienced and developed. He just isn’t really an NHLer. |

Not to sound like a jerk, but there are teams that need goalies. Should we make a deal if it’s there to be made? We have the space to put Pinto on the books for his reported “ask”, or are draft picks more valuable? Reimer surprised me in his past starts. Husso is doing what Ned did. Kind of fell off, Ned went to LTIR today in Pitt. Just no clue what to do and I don’t know if Lyon is a “game changer”. |

Right now the value is in the organizational depth and that is why Yzerman hasn’t risked putting Lyon on waivers.
Doubt there is a trade that makes any sense for Detroit considering right now there isn’t a need to have 21 skaters on the roster.
Definitely no way Yzerman takes on Pinto. Not they I necessarily agree due to all the hypocrisy and lack of info but the gambling thing screams “character issue” |

I know you’re right. I’m watching this team and man something is just off tonight. The hypocrisy cracks me up. A player crashes into a Tim Hortons, flees the scene, then gets a leadership award. It all depends on the player I guess. |

I myself am very fond of gambling and everything related to it. I try to play something like that as often as possible. But to find a good casino for me has always been a challenge, especially as a beginner it was important for me to find a no deposit bonus casinos to first get used to play, develop a strategy and so on. Fortunately, I then found here https://bstcasinos.com/no-deposit-casino-bonuses/ list of verified casinos and now I try to play and win without problems. Maybe you can try it. |
