I'm not ready to give up on Wheeler just yet. Yes, he has not looked good so far. However, its only 4 games in a new city and new team. Zibby has started previous seasons very slowly as well and then he suddenly gets hot. Perhaps we give Wheeler some more time?

If the rangers young kids don’t get it together by Christmas iim expecting some trades. They just have held back this team for so long with their lack of production. Watching Hughes last night is depressing

Soft is the precise word to use in explaining their play! Pushed around and no push back at all! This team needs to wake up, there should be no need for helmet tossing or “closed door meetings”. If this team doesnt start showing signs of getting out of its own way, this season will be lost and a tear down will be needed, again!

Who can they trade? Just the kids, everyone else has a NMC. Trading them will get a return of what? 2nd round picks? Those picks will do nothing to help the team make the playoffs. No matter what, its a ride or die with this bunch for the next 3-4 years. Buckle up, get your tissue boxes cause there might be a lot of crying if Lavy cant get this bunch to the Cup finals.

The kids is who I’m referring too. The core vets can’t be moved. The young kids will be the first ones shipped out and should if they don’t produce. Not bc they may not get better but rangers are in win now mode next two years. The kids are holding them back the most currently.

They can’t trade much. It’s really all on Laf, Kakko, Miller, Chytill and Schneider taking the next step and being solid compliment scorers to the core. If not then yea this team won’t sniff a deep playoff run

Exactly. And if the rest of the team is playing well they may force drurys hand to move them for players who can help them win now. Hopefully they start producing

If the kids arent producing, what do you think the return will be?? Definitely not a first line player. Second line player?? I highly doubt it. Third liner is more like it but we need first and second line players so trading the kids will not be worth it.

Unless Drury decides to package picks which I’d personally rather him not. But him and Lavi could become impatient

We will see. Its just 4 games into the season with a new coach. Before we go on the ledge, lets just wait and see what happens. I think 15-20 games is what is needed for a real evaluation.

Just from the outside - you might have to go the Vegas route - no sentimentality at all… trade young kids and a top like wing like Tuch for Eichel … Done - Get Stone .. done… trade an original like Smith .. done … win the cup with your 5th goalie…

Just ruthless -

I wonder if Drury would consider that approach - or perhaps that was the approach last year with Vladdy and Kane - and it just didn’t work -

The demise of the Rangers vs. New Jersey had little to do with Valdy and Kane.

Laf for Garland and a top 10 protected first rder. We doin that? 😢 I guess money would have to get figured out also

Just thinking organizationally, not necessarily what I want to happen…but I could see the shake up being, if they eventually need one, Laf gets moved for picks and they use that money to sign Kane. They can’t punt the season if he doesn’t work out, but they can’t lollygag around in the east and fall too far behind.

Laf needs to do it it’s that simple, if he doesn’t I could see him get traded. I’ve been the most patient with him, but my leash is getting shorter and shorter. Like cmon already Laf, Kakko too. He isn’t teflon in this, they both need to get rolling. Fil seems like he’s just not getting any breaks, he’s looked the best of the 3

Kane wasn’t fully healthy as we know, so I think that could help the cause of him coming back. Peeps would hate it but what can you do. To me it’s a Dolan move but he may want to do it, like unfinished business sort of thing. There is a lot of pressure on the org this year to win so they may do something drastic of the time comes. Are WE doing that? Wheres the incentive for the Canucks? Why would they be giving up a 1st round pick? Garland may be older, but he is the better player.

Vlad was a good move. Kane was hurt and his skill set was redundant. Laf chytl kakko need to produce like top 6 players period. Their bottom 6 is fine minute wheeler who will be gone at some point.
