Good call on the torts reference Jan, and very reminiscent of that group, but this group can score a lot more than they could. So that’s a leg up and a good sign down the road

Nicky Bones too was blocking pucks like crazy, he’s gonna be a fan favorite imo. The PK looked awesome in general

Annnnnd faceoffs! My god what a feeling to be able to win draws, collectively 63% last night Peca contribution already showing

All this talk about a new system? The Rangers had a system under GG. It was called playing the "right way". That's what the players would say. "if we play the right way..."
"Honest Hockey" hahaha -

I'll take the 1-3-1 trap

Buffalo was worse than the Rangers at the dots last year, so slow down there

Solid team effort, hopefully Laf can hold it together. Pitlick and Bonino's work along the boards was fantastic. Igor looks like Igor even though he wasn't under siege all night. I think I could get used to being the 1-3-1 team no one likes to play against.

So that was cool. Tough to ask for better start to a season. All the Laf and Chytil believers, look at us eh? Kreider, I mean what esle can we say, de-facto captain even without the C. Cuylle was... good. Clean up some of the stupid penalties.

Well, that is a nice way to start!! One game or no, that beats coming out looking like a bunch of plugs.
Really thought Laffy had that assist, but I just took another look and it was the Buffalo player that popped it out to the middle where Bread jumped on it.
Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Lafreniere was on the ice for 1(!) shot against at 5 on 5 last night. Easily his best game as a pro.

He was ok but he’ll be important to them this year. He is better then Mikkola imo

everything about him looked better, it's so encouraging that he looks quicker too

there was one mini 2 on 1 break soon after his goal that he tried to pass to Chytil and I wished he shot it, but I don't think I've been this happy about Lafreniere since some of those plays in 2022 playoffs

That's the worst decision he made last night. Passing on 2 on 1. Can't be too upset.

Yep. He made a few nice backhand passes off the rush on that off-wing, too!! Nice to see. That will be one of the most challenging aspects of being on that side for him.

Yea, probably had the roughest game and not as noticeable as he was in preseason. Got danced once early and had a pretty brutal turnover. High hopes for that pairing though, think they’ll be good on both ends.

I was impressed with the shot blocking by the defensemen. Those guys gave it all and I enjoyed watching the game. I hope the Rangers have a lot of defense depth because if the regulars continue to play that way, the injuries will pile up sooner or later.
