Yeah, as much as Treliving is SAYING he's holding out hope that it's short term, I think panic buttons have to be going off a little bit here.

Gio is 36 and recovery is going to be hampered purely by the fact that he's not 21 or 22. My bet is it's at LEAST 2 weeks till he's back, but more likely 4 and Tre is positioning himself to not get screwed with deadline deals.

2 week test period for this team - either they go 6-2 by the 21st or they are talking selling I think.

This injury could be a blessing in disguise.

Either the team rallies and they finally find their swagger for the last 1/4 of the season or they get even worse than they have been and their should be no doubt about being sellers come TDL.

I'd like to be optimistic, but I think there is a greater than 50% chance the bottom falls out. I still maintain that the first round spanking from last year did irreversible damage to some of our stars.

I think I might finally be done with this site. There are 8 ads placed after a paragraph or two in your post. That is so gross.

I totally agree. I very very pessimistic they rise to the challenge this year. I think Tre just needs to step back & say this just wasnt our year & make moves for the future.

We should be selling Brodie, Hamonic & Talbot. He should be seeing if some larger deals can be made. I Have defended Bennett all these years but if we can use him to acquire Dumba or Manson out of Anaheim, I would do that deal. I would also see how desperate Buffalo are (read on Spector's site talk of even Eichel getting tired of losing)
Maybe we see a Gaudreau & Janko to Sabres for Reinhart & Risto & maybe we can get a few picks like a 2nd & 3rd as I think Buffalo have quite a few stockpiled.

That may have to be a summer trade but heck why not sooner, cap hits are pretty close. Sabres could drool over uniting Gaudreau & Eichel. Just saying. We could easily lose to Nashville tonight, go into Vancouver & get our arses kicked & suddenly we are on a 4 game losing streak going into California. Yikes!!!! 2 or 4 ppoints out of the next 5 games is a definite reality.

Totally agree with the first round exit this team hasn’t fully recovered ... ! Yeah we need a scoring gritty winger.. but who doesn’t. I have said this all along we need a good reliable defence-man to go along with that winger. Big buff ??? Offence more times then not starts with good D and my opinion flames defence hasn’t been nearly good enough basically all year!!

I'm looking at the glass half full and not empty. I think this could be a rallying point for the team where players step up and they go on a winning streak.

Yeah! Our team of warriors are going to step up and rally around this injury and go on a huge tear..........NOT! Teams probably relieved now they can use this as an excuse for sucking and not making the playoffs

Bunch of negative Nancy’s on here. Fuk me!

They will come together like they did the last time Gio was hurt. Kicked the Canucks as$ in the playoffs.

@ Kevin R
If we’re trading Johnny in the off season then we should be looking at philly. Konecny and Ghost for Johnny and ?

I like the idea of Dumba coming home, he’s big talented, mean, just what the Flames need on the back end. Tre should be going hard on this now!

Don’t care if Treliving was just extended for 10 years, another flop should cost him his job! He’s has plenty of time to right the ship and another step back is unacceptable!

Tough time to be positive but good on you for finding a way. May I ask what is your drink of choice_ WOuld love to try it out and see if I can be more positive.

I think JG to Philly makes sense. And Philly just might be willing to make a decent package to get their prodigal son.

I think you and I are the only ones that aren't a bunch of (frank)ing Debbie Downers. Everyone is acting like the Flames are done but they have a favourable schedule. Hunkulese posted a website on Tanners blog awhile ago about it. Anyways everyone keep CALM and BEER on!!

Well I’m in Sayulita Mexico for another couple months, margaritas are a daily vitamin drink, but I also like almond tequila, and of coarse crevasse.

Johnny to Philly makes the most sense to me. If we could pry Konecny + out of them I’d be good with that.

Can’t figure Hunk out, he’s almost like a troll. When the Flames are rolling, he’s a downer then they stumble and he’s got the Pom poms out!
Glad to see you’re still on board, it’s way less crowded on the band wagon.

Lol hard to be optimistic when this team hasn't looked good even when they win. Most teams with a negative goal differential don't make the playoffs. Only reason we are still in it, is because the Pacific, and for the most part the west in general is so weak. I have followed this team for35 some odd years, through more bad than good. We should be upset that a team spending to the cap puts on such a horrendous show on most nights. Defending this product put on the ice this year is extremely hard, if people are a happy with this year that is their right and good on them, of course I would love to see them turn it around but with the disinterested play I have seen this year I just don't see it happening.... here's hoping for the best, and hope we don't lose 2 players to ufa for nothing, without making the playoffs...

I'm just glad this happened before the TDL and not after. If the flames poop the bed for the next couple of weeks, it'll be an easy decision to be sellers. We'll also get to see how Brodie does playing away from Gio.
