Sens traded the 12th overall and a third round pick to aquire the 11th overall when they drafted Brown.

In 2008 Nashville sent the No. 15 overall pick to Ottawa in exchange for picks No. 18 and 70.

That's all I know, I don't know if there's a set criteria, or if its really arbitrary.

Zadina appears to be a clear #3 despite the rumours the Habs may take someone else 3rd overall. I can see a bidding war shaping up and if the Sens really want Zadina over Tkachuk they will need to fork over #4 and #22. I don't think the Sens will do it though.
