Great here comes the depth signings. We never see these with the Islanders. What a treat.

I wonder what games there are gonna show during the summer ice series... possibly the home opener against the florida panthers in the solid 2-0 loss in which the islanders went on a crazy offensive implosion in front of the only sell out crowd of the year.

Dee thanks for being here but the truth is, does it really matter who the Isles sign if their not signing players that will compliment the team...another year of zero playoff games, more b/s going on with the building...and owner who has proven that he has zero knowledge of hockey management...it's all a joke.

Should she not report any signings unless you approve them?

How about they show the games where Isles were leading and then blew it in the 3rd? It will:

A: Remind us WHY they didn't make the playoffs again.
B: Provide at least a game a week for the long summer drought.
C: Hopefully be watched by someone in the Isles org who will realize, "Geee, maybe all the fans are RIGHT! Cappy sucks as a head coach! Look at all the games they(HE) let get away"

FROM THE NY POST...this is what Dee should be reporting on...

So who was that commissioner of a professional sports league seen exiting the Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center subway stop and then hurrying across the street to enter the new Brooklyn arena on Friday afternoon?

Why, informants tell us he looked suspiciously like Gary Bettman, who could have been trying to score tickets to the Sept. 28 Jay-Z that will open the arena, might have been checking out the location of the suite from which he would watch the Oct. 2 Islanders-Devils exhibition match if it’s not canceled by a lockout, but may also have been visiting the office of developer and owner Bruce Ratner to chat about the possibility of, oh well, an NHL team moving to Brooklyn.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum — the lease expiring in 2015, Charles Wang seeking a new venue for his club and the overburdened suburban taxpayers unlikely to defray the cost of a new arena for the hockey club.

To be sure, there are roadblocks to consider in moving the Islanders to Brooklyn, the least of which by the way is Barclays Center’s seating capacity of less than 15,000 for hockey, because revenue is about gate receipts, not attendance.

There is the literal issue of roads, limited parking and whether folks from the Island would travel by mass transit to watch a transplanted team or whether the franchise would have to develop a new fan base within the city that has longed pledged its allegiance to the Rangers (as the Nets will do within the boroughs that are betrothed to the Knicks).

But it’s a conversation worth having. The Dodgers could have gone to Queens when they instead skedaddled to Los Angeles. It would be an everlasting shame if the Islanders were to go to Quebec (or Seattle) if they instead could move to Brooklyn.

It’s merely a subway ride, as our moles tell us the NHL commissioner took on Friday.

No.... seating is the BIGGEST concern.. it is the biggest roadblock... If the roads & parking are fine for the Nets to play there... why would they be a concern for less people to come see the Islanders??
If you place a team worth watching on the court & on the ice.. the fans will come... they will come by car, bike, boat, plane, train, subway, roller-skates it doesnt matter... give the fans something worth watching & getting to the game wont be an issue.

I agree. Brooklyn may not be 100% perfect but unless LI or Queens steps up Brooklyn is the best option for NY at his time. If I was Charles and I could make it in Brooklyn I would love to stick it to LI by moving the team to Brooklyn.

Brooklyn is not going to let the Isles go easily. You have to think there are pushing hard for them and will make a real effort to get them in Brooklyn. Charles has to at least like feeling wanted.

X can you see LI even getting their act together for a new building to get done? Can you even see Wang wanting to go down that road with LI again?

I can

Ohh god yes.. he's still trying as we type.

But there is also future owners, future builders... remember its not that Nassau doesn't want a new building... they don't want to pay for it & they don't want a mini-city

Nasaau doesn't even know what it wants. What it seems to want is a free building that they can own and collect rent from, without paying for demolition and construction. Nobody is going to build the county an arena if its is not profitable to do so. Nobody has provided any proof that Wang paying for the demo of the NVMC and construction of a new arena for the county and paying rent to the county afterwards would be a good business decision for Wang or any other potential developer.
