No he hasn't. Since he entered the NHL he has been a 4th line fixture. Ice time has been between 12-14 minutes. He gets almost zero time on the PP. After 300+ games his faceoff percentage is consistently below 50%.
Also not sure what makes him controversial? He's nothing more than a plain vanilla 4th line guy on a basement contract that can be fully buried if necessary. The opposite of controversy.
