Leafs would be far better off with Jenner than Sillinger. Columbus is far more likely to move on from Jenner, with 1 year left on his deal, than give up the home town kid Sillinger.

Trading assets for Bertuzzi to push Knies to a 2nd line role is a bad idea. Knies won't perform at his price tag without Matthews. It's bad enough they lost Marner, losing Matthews would be catastrophic for Knies.

The Leafs missed the boat on bringing in McBain which was a great idea. They were too busy wasting their time acquiring Maccelli.

Anything the Leafs do at this point will require them to trade assets they don't have such as elite prospects or 1st round picks.

The list of remaining UFAs is very short and unimpressive. The Leafs need to continue dumping the waste like they did with Reaves and bring in guys that just have the highest level of competitive spirit to fill out the bottom-six.

To be fair you're predicting just as much as he is. None of us know what this leafs squad minus Marner will be like. Right now, I don't see a well balanced line up. Just the same thing as last year with a major downgrade in the top 6 and a marginal upgrade in the bottom 6.

They lost a wimpy assed passer in the top six and the bottom six will look a lot better, they just got to dump Jarnkrok and Kampf.

Never been a true Marner fan, and I’m a Londoner who loves the Knights.
