Hurricanes fan here. I have no idea what Tulsky is thinking by giving up a 1st, 2nd, and defenseman Scott Morrow for Miller, and then signing Miller to an 8 year 7.5 million AAV contract. I am at a loss for words really. |

Why are the team rosters not up to date in cap central with roster changes & trades dating back to last year? |

Maybe his boss signed off on Miller's new contract on condition that he subtract three players/contracts from the balance sheet over the next two years? |

How I heard the story .......
The Hurricanes were thinking about offer sheeting K'Andre Miller. But Miller kind of wanted 8 years. So The Hurricanes offered the Rangers the equivalent of what they would have had to pay as an offer sheet at $7.5 million. A 1rst, 2nd and 3rd (although they subbed in a player rather then a 3rd). For this , the Rangers signed Miller to an 8 year deal at $7.5 million AAV.
Rather then be Richards and outright offer sheet, the Hurricanes offered a better deal and the Rangers agreed.
GM's wanting to avoid using offer sheets and starting pissing contests?
I don't know .... the story as told sounds plausible.
