Back to back to back + champions starts tonight.
Maybe the powers that be will actually choose the Conn Smythe winner from the championship team this year. I don't know why everyone is ignoring that as a Panther motivating factor. I thought it was a huge insult last season. This Panthers team doesn't take insults well. They remember.

MVP of the playoffs has never been exclusive to the winner. Kinda hard to argue that McDavid didn’t deserve it.

Great first game. Could end up being a long series. It's feeling like Edmonton's time this year. Oilers aren't nearly as tired or banged up in the Finals as they were last year.

Panthers at times last night seemed to hesitate when there was an opening to try and make a pass/play, then the moment was lost and the play would fizzle into a turnover or just a harmless nothing. I imagine Edmonton firepower causing that hesitance. We’ll see if they get over that moving forward. They looked to be playing it safe at times, and that burned them, eventually. Great comeback win for the Oilers, the first time in a long time that the Panthers surrendered a lead after 2. |
