I look forward to July to see if the moves the Leafs make create a situation where there is incredible flooding in Northern Ontario - predominately caused by the tears of the President and CEO of the Mitch Marner fan club

Not the worst blog. I don’t feel like I gained very much from reading it tho.
I get more out of some posters comments. Especially when they post the same comment in two different threads. It bombed in the last one, we’ll see if it does any better here. Lmao. |

The challenge for a writer/blogger is to not repeat the same subject over and over waiting for something new to happen for inspiration.
We all know what the Leafs need to do or not do. Let’s hear a new take. |

We laugh at that but after watching the canes play the panthers it shows that maybe the leafs are really close. A healthy Stolarz and we likely would have won the third game and the series. |

I understand what you are saying, but had Bobrovsky showed up and been even just average for games 1 + 2, Florida could quite possibly have swept them in 4. |

But that seems to be the narrative every time we win in the playoffs, the other goalie was bad. We shouldn’t forget the long stretches where Stolarz was twiddling his thumbs because the panthers couldn’t get a shot on goal. |

Canes are putting up a fight.
Florida is so (frank)ing dirty omg.
I wouldn’t mind that Jarvis fella on the Leafs. |

I hate how we all know professional sports are rigged, but we all just choose believe it’s not that bad and that our favourite team can still win.

I fail to see anyone dare take on the true issue with tthe Leafs. TSN recently stated Connor McDavid is the least selfish player in the league. In contrast last season past the team was only intersted in 70 for number 34. This year as captain he didn’t accept a single ounce of responsibility for the loss. I would not want him on my team, or in my room and as captain of trash pick-up. He is no a leader. He is a selfish Trumper that likely hates the Maple Leaf regardless of colour, red or blue.
Ship him off to Utah for what you can get. Clean house. That is the only fix that will have a chance of success. No 34 is the cancer in the room. |

A “selfish Trumper”? “Likely hates Canada”?
Has Auston ever made any pro-Trump statements, or any kind of political statement?
Sadly, the poor character traits which you describe are not exclusive to one “side” or the other.
Leave politics out of this, it’s enough of a poopshow without adding that element.

Something I’d be interested in reading would be an assessment of which teams have the cap space this summer to even consider Marner and his lofty demands!? He’s going to ask for stupid money and, are there many teams with that kind of space opening up? With Rantanen getting $12M for 8yrs, I just cant see Marner even getting a raise, being a playoff dud. That said, moving Marner should have happened 2 yrs ago, and this was the major failure of Shanahan and why he was let go. It will be interesting to see Marners welcome when he plays in Toronto, on another team! I think he signs west. Glad to see him go! |

They aren’t close. The point being, they are a really good team, but when it matters, they suck! This team isn’t good enough to TAKE it. When the chips were down they didn’t even compete! They had their ass kicked by Florida. You can say they took them to 7 games but then Florida made them look like juniors when the series was on the line! Whether it was Boston or Florida or Montreal or whomever, when the going got tough, the Leafs got going, to the golf course. They play well in meaningless games, but you get to games 5,6 and 7, and they are terrible. They looked like trash in game seven! This core has been together longer than any core in hockey, that should be a huge advantage, and it’s not! This core has been working on perfecting their power play together, for years, and they suck. Let’s face it, all four are soft. Love Willy but you can’t have him and Marner on the same team, too much money for too soft. The only way they win is if other teams get worse, and teams like Ottawa are only getting better. Shanahan screwed this team when he didn’t get Marner traded before his NTC kicked in, and it will take some pretty fancy work by Tree to recover from that!! |

Got it. Leafs are bad when they lose and even worse when they accidentally win. Panthers dummied every team they played. Leafs played badly in two games and Panthers tore them apart.
Panthers have lost 5 games in 3 rounds. Three of those losses were to the Leafs. |
