Thank you so much. I’m going to give some inside baseball on why I track economics so much. Born in 1976, I’ve had a front row seat to entire industries collapsing. The one I saw closest? Film based photography. I worked in a photo chemical plant for years. One summer around 2000, one of the employees who ran the quick develop booth at NASCAR events reported seeing a fully digital SLR camera. Just one. The next year, business fell off a cliff. Where leadership thought there would be a much slower transition, most major accounts were gone in 2 years. I learned to look at outliers much more seriously and benefitted greatly in some ways from it. Thank you for tuning in and for that compliment! It means a lot.

Jeremy, we're going to miss you. While I don't always engage with every post, I read them all. Many of these boards devolve into constant fighting, but you've done a great job keeping things civil here. There've been a few outliers over the years, but the overwhelming majority of comments on here have been respectful, which is rare on an open forum like this. Hopefully EK finds someone to post content, because when you were gone for a while, we had no body and no place to post our snarky comments.

Just so you don't go out with an inaccurate post, Ferschweiler is WMU's coach, and he interviewed for the Philly job. Adam Nightengale is the coach of MSU and is also doing a fantastic job. I know you like to be accurate, so that's the only reason I'm pointing it out.

Take care of yourself and don't be a stranger! We'll see you around! - BLE

Well, dang! Juat as we were breaking you in?!?!

You, my friend, have been an inspiration. Your work transcends the written word. It's thought-provoking and insightful. Spot-on analysis and topics that made us think before (some of us, anyway) reacted.

Life is a series of journeys. One building upon the other. And you end up a better person in a better place. You've taken the majority of us on that journey with you.

May the road rise up to meet you. My the sun shine upon your face. May the rain fall gently on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in His hands.

Fair winds and following seas, Jeremy. Keep in touch!!!!

Jeremy, I'd like say a profound thank you for all the time, sweat, passion and energy you've put into this blog. We've all enjoyed the great content you've given us. Enjoy your next phase of the journey. I've been checking in to Hockeybuzz for probably 15+ years... and you're definitely one of the best we've ever seen. Once Ek gets a new Red WIngs blogger... please stop in to say hello to us. You're going to be missed for sure. Wishing you all the best and a bright future. Take care of yourself and stay in touch !

Wow, thank you so much for that Vladdie. This opportunity came after I’d been on disability for 3 years after 15 years of working 2 jobs (one full time for the bills, one as a music leader at a church for the passion). To go from always running to nothing makes you feel horrid and very low. The opening came after I did a few writeups on the fan boards and I was given a shot as a nobody. A huge gift and it pulled me out of a dark place. This has been a painful decision because of how incredible everything became. I will always be grateful for the fantastic ride!

I guess I’m signing off as well, because your posts are the only reason I ever visited this site. I read almost every entry of yours. I valued & enjoyed your perspective and insights. Best of luck to you.

May I echo your words?!?!

I doubt Ek will find another blogger anytime soon. I’m a Flyer fan first, but always read Jeremy’s blog. He was passionate, articulate, and spoke about the economics of game. I appreciated his insight immmensley.

Now without Jeremy or Bill Meltzer, I have a huge void to fill for everything those two brought here to this site.

Anyone know where I can go to fill it?

Thanks, and Jeremy…. a HUGE thank you! All the best my friend!!
