It’s like you have to sign a waiver when working for this franchise that you are just going to make poor decisions no matter what state the franchise is in.
I really don’t know if there’s a more inept ownership/management team in any of the four major pro sports than Comcast & The Flyers. Like I’m not even joking. They are legitimately worse than the Mets and Commanders. |

Well, this is a business, and the hockey success of the Flyers is very far down the list of Hilferty priorities. He was hired because he has a track record of managing change in a business (and because of prior business ties with Comcast).
Comcast Spectacor is facing a severe crisis with the prospect of the Sixers leaving. He has managed to get the Phillies to partner with Comcast to refurb the entire area for a sports complex for several billion $:

This is the kind of thing that occupied probably 95% of his attention. The rest is brand management and making soothing, reassuring corporate talk.
Why blame the guy for doing exactly what he was brought here to do? |

Had Sean Walker stayed with the team, is there three points in there for us there? Yes. We’re in the playoffs. We would have battled hard; we would have been a difficult opponent for everyone.
-------
There you have it. Sean Walker was the reason the Flyers didn't make the playoffs. It had nothing to do with Torts coaching, historically bad PP, or horrible OT decisions.
As informercials go it was pretty on target. Everybody loves everybody, please buy our product.

OT decisions and bad coaching probably go together…
Yes I believe Sean Walker getting traded hurt the defense along with a depleted blue line with Drysdale, Seeler, Rostolainen all be hurt down the stretch. Not to mention Carter Hart being lost to the team and Samuel Ersson being asked to carry the load half way through the season. |

Bill has told us multiple times that Clarke etc are all retired and have little to no contact with the team
why cant you get it through your head that there is no alumni faction pulling the strings
Briere is the GM he makes decisions
Jones is POHO - he makes decisions
torts is the coach - he makes decisions
They then all get together and put their decisions in a new app called the T3 Decision Maker and take the results to The comcast honchos
The app is the Gold standard of Apps; just like the Flyers are the gold standard of the NHL!
This is the corporate mandate that employs trot out -- get used to it |

By let’s get out Carter and Richards for the future did you mean get two talented guys then trade them and see them win a cup elsewhere? |

If the Sabres are looking for a center to compliment Cozens and Thompson, I think the Flyers might have a great locker room/culture guy center to offer.

Depending on what they do on a top 6 wing, they could have the money to chase Monahan, Stephenson or Wennberg if the NYR don’t bring him back. They have a number of options.

I’ll go back to the trade proposal of TK and Laughts for BUF’s #11 and Krebs or prospect.
There is no way to know who could be available at 11 and 12 but can you imagine a Helenius and Catton draft? That might actually be (obviously metaphorically) a Carter and Richard’s moment. Or a Catton/Helenius and Eiserman draft? I’m not high on Eiserman because I don’t like one dimensional players but the kid was #2 on many draft lists for nearly 3/4 of a year.
That is the kind of trade that would keep me as a fan. Signing TK long term will force me out. I can’t watch the same old sh$!. |

You are talking about 3 points! Of course small things are going to impact the season. And yes, losing Walker on the blueline, especially with the injuries that occured to other defenseman around the same time, was a factor. The poor PP was definitely a factor. So was losing Carter Hart, which to me was the biggest factor. Torts had his share of the blame, but there is a large slice of blame on the players for their ridiculous collapse at the end of the season to the worst teams in the league. |

I can’t see Catton falling that far, but it would be sweet. You’d need some of that Howie Roseman luck. I think a lot of teams are champing at the bit to call his name.
Helenius is certainly a possibility.
I don’t mind taking Eiserman if he’s one dimensional at this time. It’s a dimension we desperately need. Fill the void. We’ll work on the defense later. Until then, put the puck in the net. That’s your job. Doesn’t work out? Fine. Someone will compensate you well for a guy like that. Teams are always looking for dynamic scorers.
Pairing him up down the line with Michkov could be a natural connection. |

You're right, that is what he is doing. However don't blow smoke and tell us that your goal is to build a championship team and that's the focus. Don't try and bullpoop us with soothing, reassuring corporate talk. Some can see through that but unfortunately, as a whole. The Flyers fan base is dumber than a box of rocks. That's how we can blame the guy. For being deceitful.

dont agree with Carson that high at all. very shocking to me. not much after the top 2.
attard, samu, elliot are more suspect than prospect to me.
so being #17 is subjective I understand. Thats being said seeing the lack of talent at the nhl level future aint all that rosey |
