Bill who are the possible trade targets as cant listen at the moment. thanks.
- Hello it's me 2050
Necas ... but if he is truly available there will be several teams competing to get him. I still say the best option for the Flyers is to see what they can get for TK, and some other veterans like Farabee, Sanheim and Laughton, and if it makes sense trade them for assets and draft capital. Be aggressive in this draft to get that potential 1D. Then take a step back next season to get a top 10 pick in a deeper draft and get the potential 1C. Then hopefully with Michkov develop these players and see what you have. That's what I would do anyway. Is Necas at 25 years old really a good enough 1C? I don't think so. |

Necas wouldbe a huge disappointment if they are expecting him to become the #1.
Look at other teams #1 center..
Matthews, McDavid, Point, Mackinnon, Petterson, Crosby....and our potential #1 would be Necas...who hasn't played center in years and plays as a winger.
Not worth it...salary or trade cost wise. |

A good take. For all of us who think TK or Farabbee gets a top 10 pick, the Hockey Writers page seems to think it’s more realistic using picks and players to get a pick at 11,13,14. Having back to back picks in that range isn’t a bad thing. Plus since RR and Laughton seem to be real trade options, the Flyers might be able to add 2,3 or 4th round picks for them to make up for what they may have to trade away. Let’s see if GMDB gets aggressive. |

May be possible to see this kid drop a bit going by this article.

One thing is for certain, there is no consensus outside Celebrini.
So far I have seen mocks with the Flyers picking at #12:
Greentree
Eiserman
Helenius
Luchanko
Yakemchuk
Iginla
Brandsegg-Nygård
Richardinson
Catton.
I don't recall it ever being this all over the place since I started following the draft.

Remember those cup teams. Always pissed me off the way they sell the story that the Habs taught them the right way to play in 76. No Bernie, no Ricky. My bruins beat them easy in 74 without those two pieces. That series is a lot different with a full flyer team |

That's because it's a very mediocre at best draft....only 4 to 6 top level players |

I expect Briere to swing for a center in the 1st rd. If the run on blueline goes as expected, good chance Helenius or Catton is available @ 12. Only question is can Catton play center in the NHL. I would hope Briere could answer that question correctly considering his playing career. |

Of course it’s more realistic to get a lower pick, that’s not some ground breaking revelation. The point of acquiring a top 7/8 pick is to select one of the top 5 defensemen. Acquiring a pick at 11-14 will not get you one of those players. I think NJ is the team that takes Eiserman. He has flaws but next to Hughes he could be lethal. The Flyers will be extremely lucky if Catton falls. If he gets past Calgary, then it would come down to Buffalo who have taken smaller forwards in the previous 2 top picks. The other players that will be available beyond the ones I’ve mentioned don’t excite me at all. I will also add, the 2025 draft is said to be a lot deeper than 2024 so I’m not giving up that Colorado pick so easily. If they get to the 12th pick and the previously mentioned players are all gone I’d prefer they be the team that moves back a few spots and collects more picks/prospects. They might be able to move back into the mid to late teens, pick up a few more assets, and come away with a player like Hage. |
