goalie battle. Good information on the lineup, Torts is odd, it feels like he just wants to do something no other coach does, EGO.
Bill, what is up with Cam A, he fumbles pucks and just is not making plays? As long as Cates is on the wing, out him back with Tip and Frost. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrap: Flyers Blank Isles in 1-0 Shootout; Phantoms Conquer Amerks, 5-4 - bmeltzer
This is the kind of win torst wets his pants over.
Poehling in OT is just quite frankly laughable. To start even more so.
While not gonna happen and no idea what his value is right now, Seller has played some very solid hockey, look to move him. At his price point there should def be interest. Bill right now what do you think his value is in a trade? Would he have more value in package type deal?
Zamula sitting par for the course. Staal back from injury prefect time to sit him as back to back, nope Torts gonna torts.
If this PP was even a tad better, how many more wins would they have? It is a disgrace they have not made a coaching change in that area. A good coach recognizes this and puts his personal feelings aside. |

also the adrenaline may have worn off so to speak. God forbid the coach reduce his minutes, nah why do that after missing as much time as he did. At some point I look for ex selke to hit a wall as well. Which is to be expected imo.
The trade Cam talk has died down considerably!!! Points wise he has been ok this month. |

I know the Isles aren’t an offensive powerhouse, but they do play a pretty structured defensive game, probably because they know they can’t score at will. Still nice to see the Flyers win a low scoring, tight checking game. Maybe it could serve them well in the future when protecting slim leads. It would be nice if all the youngsters were out there, progressing together. Hopefully in the near future. |

Didn't see much of the last three games, but the Isles appear to be rather unimpressive. They have a bunch of aging players and the Flyers would appear to be in a much better position than them going forward. Only saw the overtime and shootout last night, but Ersson and Foerster looked good! That's very impressive for Foerster cause he didn't even really deke on the winning goal. That is simply using quick hands to beat a world class goalie. Bodes well down the road for his possible goal scoring prowess! |

They should look to move Cam if they can. I’m not saying today or tomorrow, but if people are saying TK, Hart and Sanheim don’t fit the timeline how the hell does Atkinson? I’m sure it would be an easy contract to move and honestly probably can’t happen until next year, but I’d rather see guys like Frost, Brink in the line up every night. |

There is probably next to no market to move Cam even with 50% retained at this time. That extra year is a killer imo.
Plus add into the fact he is torts guy, so he may ride his contract out or moved in 2025 deadline. |

Remove the goal tending and the Isles are a bottom 10 team |

I agree this year…but the contract is probably movable in the summer with some retention as next year is the last year of his deal. Depends how he plays. As far as Torts, he’s like any coach….you give him veterans and that’s who he is going to play. It will depend on the type of year Cam has…if he’s a 20 goal-40 point guy you are probably right…he won’t be tradable until the last moment. |

I disagree about the summer part. Teams wont want to commit 2.9 cap hit ( 50%) for a 34/35 year old unless he has a very strong year, like you said.
Well torts is the co-gm1 at the nhl level. He has to approve!!! |

At least Poehling is a forward and has a modicum of skating ability. (Bathroom) Stall is absolutely horrid and has no business playing NHL hockey anymore. Plus he is a Stall which means he comes from one of the ugliest hockey families ever.

Why move assets when you can contend for a WC playoff spot?

About a quarter away through the season this team has exceeded expectations. For the most part they play hard every game. They have outshot the opposition in 14 of 21 games. They have been fairly entertaining as well. The only time I was annyoed by a loss was the game in San Jose.
Give me this type of season any day over a bottom feeder season. Never guaranteed anything in the draft as the Nolan Patrick situation shows. |

Just a couple of years ago they were one of the up and coming young teams but the trade for a "starting to age" Palmieri and the Lee and Nelson extensions (you may want to even include the trading for and extending Horvat) are beginning to wear on them. This is why the "chasing the cup strategy seldom works, if ever, and it is also why I was against extending Couturier. |

Interesting. Here is a post you made attempting to call me out for saying that I thought the Flyers were the better team. At least I think it was me.

"It's kind of funny that the resident genius said that the Flyers were the better team and should handle the Isles. I countered with the fact that they have been playing better lately without getting the results. Wa la! The Isles won again tonight too. I also said when this 7 game gauntlet started within the Patrick division that this would be a good indicator of where the Flyers really are. Wa la...it ain't lookin too good. You're welcome! Eh what?"
