I want to hear about expected goals and high-danger save percentage. The information is available and it is not hard to explain or understand - Ryan_Wilson
I'm just here to ask how many expected goals equates one actual goal for the sole reason of triggering Feds. |

Eh i think there’s a good middle ground between a dinosaur broadcast and the color guy just being a statistician. Talking about expected goals and poop would make for an absurdly dry broadcast that just won’t be very accessible to people that aren’t into the weeds of that. My preference would be a color guy that can break down plays in basically the broadcast version of what Marshall does in his video analysis articles. |

Yeah he’s asking for the arrogant stat nerd version of the basic quality play breakdowns the average viewer wants. |

It does not feel like training camp opens tomorrow. Even with Karlsson there is not a lot of buzz for the Pens. |

No one wants to be thinking about stillers football right now. We have officially become The Bears AFC. |

Pickett’s brutal. Harris is brutal. O line is brutal. Scheme is brutal. Whole offense needs to be launched into the sun.
This is why we needed to replace Canada this off-season. Canada is abysmal so no we have a thrown year where guys can’t be properly evaluated and young developing players will regress or be flat out ruined. I straight up don’t want Broederick Jones to start this year despite how bad our tackles have been because I don’t want Canada’s offense to taint him. |

Was joking a bit but this is definitely the most confident I’ve been going into a top 10 matchup in my entire life as an ND fan, which is to say I think there’s a 50/50 chance we win. Our pass rush is very suspect and our middle linebackers aren’t that athletic, but since Ohio state’s line isn’t their strong suit and we don’t have to worry about our LBs being abused in space by a dual threat QB that they have to contain, our weaknesses actually match up pretty well against OSU. As you say, box up the run and let our strong secondary handle McCord and I like us here. My main worry is our receivers being able to create separation. Our upper class men are mediocre due to our previous receivers coach and our youngsters are too green to be relied on in such a matchup. Hoping Hartman can throw some guys open. |

I honestly can't understand the play calls. It's like he out thinks himself with all the sweeps and QB options and he doesn't even let Pickett make the pre-read plays. I don't know how many times Pickens was in single coverage and Picket either A. Didn't recognize it, or B. didn't look over their before the play, get that guy the ball.

It’s because Pickett is hearing footsteps because we’re a) always in an obvious passing down situation and b) the o line is doing zero pass pro. When a QB starts hearing footsteps, they stop reading and just force poop to their first reads which is exactly what we saw on Monday. On paper our O Line shouldn’t be this bad. That’s coaching that’s directly trickling down to Pickett (frank)ing up badly.
Young quarterbacks usually don’t recover from starting to hear footsteps during key developmental years because so much of QB play is mental. It happened to Blake Bortles, it happened to David Carr, and it has happened to countless others. Idk if Pickett ever had the stuff but he’s probably irreversibly ruined at this point. Complete malpractice by Tomlin to keep Canada on staff. |

Nah. I think he will be a good mix of new and old school. But it doesn’t matter one bit. |

If they're rotating guys, I think it would have been smart to have one of them sprinkle some fancy stats into the broadcast. No need to bludgeon the fans, but a little would be good IMO.
