Bob Errey reportedly not returning to the broadcast next season. Not surprised, FSG has to see the Penguins have had one of the lower rank broadcasts in recent years. He's a big part of the change to improve. Wouldnt be shocked if its Colby Armstrong.

I will add - Bob Errey is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Met him a few times over the years. Certainly not celebrating him losing his job, just think its best for everyone.

Yeah... Never met Errey. Everybody says he's a great guy. I won't miss his work lol.

He was OK. Coming from somebody who grew up with Lang and Steigy, those two were not going to live up.

Personally, I liked Steigy's work. I know not everybody did. I thought he did a pretty good at play by play too. Impossible to follow Lang.

Same. I had the good fortune of dining with Bob and Mearsy once and Errey was flat out great (so was Mearsy).

Hopefully we'll know the new pair soon enough.

SportsNet can't charge what a Boston area market can earn. If it was Steelers, Piraets and Penguins? I'd pay $360 flat a year but it ain't gonna be that.

"Well he didn't go down as hard as Hobey Baker." might be the most unintentionally funny moment I have heard on tv. Steigy had faults, but boring was not one. Bob on the other hand I couldn't stand. Mears is just blah.

It was amazing. You couldn't have scripted it any better. Just old man brain doing old man brain things.

NESN though employs one of the worst broadcast teams, so not all that hopeful they'll replace these guys with something better.

Just about everyone is saying the radio crew plus Colby will be the new TV crew so thats a huge win.
