Leafs need to find 3M in cap space. Nylander for Pageau doesn't work.
Nylander for Mayfield does though.

Nylander has been one of the better playoffs players for the Leafs.

The leafs don't have to do anything except send 1 or 2 players to the Marlies to be cap compliant. Maybe a trade or two in March if it makes sense. Next season cap space $45mil+ to play with. People need to chill.

Saves the leafs nearly $2 million tho, but they need closer to $3 so I doubt this deal would be enough anyways.

They can only bury $1.15 million per player so they’d need to drop at least 3 making roughly that or more.

They currently have 13 forwards, 7 d men and 3 goalies as well so at best they can only drop one of each and hope they clear.
