There’s not really a winner or loser. I’d say both sides succeeded in what they wanted based on where the franchises currently are situated. Preds are rebuilding, need cap space, and fresh blood. Johansen is a solid player but isn’t THE guy anymore as he was during 5e 17 cup run, so being in Colorado will be great for him. He still has great skill. And then the Avs got a solid player at a good price without needing to give up anything. Unlikely Preds sign Galchenyuk.
Short term though Avs win in their hopes for another Cup. Long term Preds could really see the repercussions of this move paying massive dividends. |

Someone has to explain this trade from Nashville's POV. After trading a guy making 8 million for next two years, they pick up half his contract, get a player back who is an UFA that you absolutely don't want to sign and get no draft picks.
How does Nashville benefit from this trade? |

Ovechkins "contacts " in the genocidal Putin regime aren't long for this world. The CAPS should reasses their Russia fetish. |

Ovechkin and his contacts no clue what that means..yes he is a highly respected russian but to my knowledge thats all he is..

Ukraine is not innocent, they are one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
As for AO just being another Russian...he's an extremely CLOSE friend of Putin, not a PR friend, an actual close friend. |

Good move for both. COL needed a 2C, Galchenyuk if he plays well can be flipped at deadline for a decent pick. NSH frees up cap space, which they are likely to weaponize to gather draft picks and/or players from teams needing it. |

Mikael Grandlund outscored RJ 3 years in a row. We're the Pens winners in their trade? |

If you are going to pick up $4 million in salary for two years, you better get a draft choice in return! |
