Chytil may like to play center and feels more comfortable there, however, I dont believe he has the vision and awareness to play center. Also the obvious deficiency at faceoffs is a huge problem. As far as playing LW, I think we have a better option there in Othmann, however we likely wont see him until next year. What happens to Chytil if LAF lines up at 3LW?

To me, Chytil is a trade chip. I do not expect to see him finish the year in NY. He will be part of the package for Kane.

Everyone that Drury has brought in ( with the exception of Jessica Campbell ) has one thing in common: they all are physical and they HIT. I don't think Statsny was ever under any consideration.

Trocheck will no doubt be asked to help Chytil at the face off dot. I think Chytil remains at Center this year for the Rangers, hopefully his game continues to improve. As aecliptic noted above, Chytil may be part of a trade package to bring in a player like Kane. We will see...

If he doesnt succeed, he wont be much of a trade chip.

A team could look at him like a guy who never got the proper chance to take the next step. Someone with still some untapped potential.

Right now, and for the foreseeable future, Chytil is a 3C on this team. He is not the type of player I consider to be a 3C for reasons I stated above. I feel like being a 3C means you have an all around 200 ft game. IMO if I were Drury Id try real damn hard to get Colton Sissons from Nashville to be our 3C. Thats the kind of player I consider an ideal 3C.

And yet he was one of the Ranger's best players in the playoffs. I dont care if he is listed as the 2nd, 3rd or 4th line center, fact is he showed up when it mattered most.

Also in the last year of his contract. If he's not playing well we'll be lucky to get an 7th round pick for an underachieving RFA with arb rights.

Right now, thats what you would call a blip on the radar. Until he can produce on a consistent level, it doesnt matter.

Of course my argument against Chytil makes you say, what the fk would anyone else want him if this is your assessment of him? Because I have my opinion, and others have theirs. Its those others Id hope see something there.

Heres another option…

Lets say we dont get Kane. We can, with the increase in the salary cap, revisit a trade option in Jakob Chychrun.

Most of our top prospects are defense man, why would we add another? We need centers.

Thats why. Hes still locked up for 3 more years on a very very nice contract.

Only concern there is what it would cost to get him.

Lindgren, Fox
Miller, Trouba
Chychrun, Schneider

Would without a doubt be the best D in the league.

No thanks, paying a guy 4.6 million to man your 3rd pairing is way too much. We have 3 defense man tied up for 20 million, Miller is due a nice raise, you save money somewhere.

Colton Sissons to be our 3C is what I really want. Aside from obviously wanting PKane.

Heads up to any of my fellow ESPN+ folks - got an auto-renew email and they jacked up the price from $70 to $100 a year. Naturally I canceled and will just use the streams people have shared on here, so you can blame me if the cap doesn't go up

The streams are really good. No reason to pay that for the games.

Do you usually just watch on a phone/laptop or is there an easy way to get them onto the tv? I was assuming i can cast it or something.

Even if you can't cast it, an HDMI cable is pretty easy.
