The Leafs have looked awesome since getting Giordano . Look like Cup contenders. Flames should have hung on to him instead of letting him walk for free .

Flames won 1 playoff round with Gio as their captain, he was injured for it and it was against the Canucks. Not near the player he once was plus Sutter would have overplayed him because he’s a veteran. No thanks! That 2 nd round pick we got for Bartchi is rounding int o areal nice defenceman.

I agree . A very solid band aid with no consideration for down the road. Benning would approve this move . Who needs that extra draft pick and 1.5 in cap relief to get a player that can actually help the team. We are in a playoff run so spending needlessly on a player they could acquire in another 18 games for half the cost is the correct decision.

Enjoy Dermott's stay , I would have preferred a different direction , but the main thing is don't piss off Steamy .
