Some good things came out of the pandemic, believe it or not and the podcast La Poche Bleue is one of those, this book is a good read for fans of the show and hockey fans alike.

thanks Karine, good read as usual

You’ll also find out how speedskater Marianne St-Gelais ended up being asked to sign a fan’s erm… ball shall we say.

uh, wait, do you mean she signed some dude's testicle or something? wtf hahaa...

also, I wasn't aware that RDS had asked Latendresse to choose between his podcast and working there, kind of a poopty move from RDS to be honest. anyway their book does sound like an interesting read indeed.

wow, that's a weak excuse, I thought it had something to do with network exclusivity or whatever. it's not like they get completely wasted during the podcast either lol... oh well.

speaking of podcasts, have you ever listened to Tony Marinaro's Sick Podcast by any chance? (odd choice for a name if you ask me lol...). he has so many ads and sponsors for it, it's insane, I think he spends half the time just mentioning them.

Bobby Mac sells his Margaritas and TSN has no issue.

Paul Bissonnette is on a podcast sponsored by New Amsterdam vodka, which also sells one based on the pod and he's on TNT.

Sounds like RDS had other issues and this was their excuse

I think the Molson 3 stars are a habs ownership thing, and not RDS-related.

they probably wanted him to work solely for RDS, without any other activities/shows outside the network, but it's sort of an archaic way of seeing things when you consider that virtually everyone has a frickin' podcast nowadays. looking back I'm sure they would reconsider this decision, it's rather dumb.

Podcasts are really popular, especially with the young. Old heads don't understand that. The issue is however, old heads run tv stations and would never get the crossover appeal. The heads at RDS probably think Latendresse doing a 15 minute weekly hit on Marinaro's show for sub-500 listeners still makes sense.

I don't think so. My point is that old people still see radio as a valuable medium and podcasts are some fringe thing for disinformation.

ahh, I see. well as much as I often enjoy Joe Rogan's podcast for example (I find he has interesting guests on a regular basis), I can't say the disinformation part is entirely false, unfortunately... let's just say I don't take his opinions on covid and on the vaccine very seriously lol
