Thanks Bill. Listened to the podcast with you and Jason this morning. Spot on commentary. Not sure how these 3 games will play out, but they absolutely must win all 3 to have any shot at making a run. It shouldn't be that way in December, but it is what it is.
Any idea on the possible return of Ellis? Is he even doing rehab skates yet? |

The destroyer has really made a name for himself and moved up the ranks.
People hate CF and his drafting but he has possibly pulled a few late round gems. If only we could more accurately choose our first round picks we may not be in this poop hole
I wonder where he would be chosen now if there was a redraft |

Only the second time I have felt this way, but rather than win a few games in a hopeless cause, I'd rather see us tear down, ship out players, and tank. |

Brad Marsh is an amazing human being. All the charity work he does with the Flyers Alumni should be commended. |

So far he looks like a good pick. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does at the WJC |

In my opinion, Fletcher has a solid drafting record in his career. The issue with Fletcher is his work at the NHL level. He'd probably make a good asst. GM but a GM and team President. No so much. It was a huge mistake to give Fletcher the whole ball of wax. |

Did anyone else watch the Sens beat the Bolts 4-0 a few days ago. I guess it was the end of their road trip ( Bolts) but it was interesting as a comparative point between the last Flyers debacle against them and yes Elliott was in net.. |

This is from the Atlantic about team Canada.
This is what is said about the destroyer:
C/W Elliot Desnoyers (Philadelphia Flyers): After a quiet first game, Desnoyers looked more like himself in the second, applying pressure, working harder than the next guy to get back in plays, changing quickly and driving play to the interior with the puck. He was all over it and there wasn’t a player in camp whose effort level was more noticeable. He was rewarded in the final moments of the second game with a blast from the slot for the 7-2 goal, too. |

Chuck delegates most of the management of scouting and drafting operations to Brent, although Chuck of course weighs in when he does see a player in person and gets the final say if need be. But he usually defers to Brent, especially on the amateur side.
Brent reminds me a lot of Sarge (Chris Pryor) in terms of his scouting preferences and philosophies. There has been a good bit of continuity. |

This is exactly the type of guy this team is missing |

I agree with this 100%
As far as GMs or coaches I feel like this team needs fresh eyes and a young coach who understands the NHL of today. The AVs and Ruffs haven't been able to adapt to the new way the teams are built and it shows, imo.
I would have loved to have Zito managing this franchise. He has made some sound draft choices and built teams for success everywhere he has been. |

You mean someone who actually competes and works hard?
Man I could not agree more.
I still think that this kid has some untapped skill that may surprise people even more as he matures and finds his game |

Also have to look at his time in Minnesota in terms of his drafting record. He seems to do a solid job in that area.

Agree completely. This organization needs to modernize it's operations.

Glad to see the team win the last two games and score to boot.
They are still a mess coming out of their own zone though. My goodness it is like the puck is a grenade. |

I know. They don’t seem to handle forecheck pressure well at all. If they all kept moving their feet IOT support one another with pass options, they could exit the zone with a few quick short passes. Drives me insane. |

Any GM brought into this environment was destined to fail. It has very little to do with Fletcher’s strengths/weaknesses and everything to do with how flawed and archaic it’s principles are that they are entrenched in with the shot callers above the GM. |

Started with a flawed roster, made some moves and it’s still a flawed roster at the end of the day. The ghost and jake arguments are getting old, ghost sucked here and he wasn’t even playing under the coaches. Jake is a great transition player but the roster wasn’t getting it done with or without him and Atkinson has scored some goals. The Ellis situation sucks but he traded huge red flags for him. I’ve actually thought Risto has played well. |

He was fantastic. He’s been one of the lone bright spots this year imo.
He regressed during the losing streak but some of that is related to the poor play of the team. If you’re constantly under siege it eventually wears on a tender. |

Bill, thanks for the Phantoms updates. I do miss your periodic reports on the other prospects. Allison looks ready. Getting him Farabee and Brassard back soon could make a significant difference. Quick prospect question. Attard is having another fine season. Do you see him signing after this season? Also #2 pick, Ginning becomes a FA in June. I think they let him walk. Agree? |

Also. When jvr scored our 5th goal Saturday night, a flyers fan in the front row jumped up who was wearing a black hextall jersey. 👍 |

Desnoyers and Andrae are the two reasons to watch the WJC for Flyers fans. Both have a chance to be impact players in that tournament. I hear Andrae might be wearing the C for Sweden. |
