Word this morning that the Islanders are finally about to file some of their deals, with the first one being Anthony Beauvillier, who is rumored to be getting just north of $12M on a 4-year deal.

Im confused. Your headline says 3 years and your commentary says 4 years. You do know they are different numbers right?
Here let's practice together. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...Good job!

If its 4 years for $3million… then I like those numbers for the islanders.

The New York Islanders have officially announced multi-year contracts for Anthony Beauvillier, Casey Cizikas, Kyle Palmieri and Ilya Sorokin. Though they have not released any further information, some details had been previously reported. Beauvillier is expected to have signed a three-year deal that carries a $4.15MM cap hit. Cizikas has signed a six-year deal with a cap hit around $2.5MM. Sorokin’s agent Dan Milstein of Gold Star Hockey tweets that it is a three-year deal for the young goaltender.

Now all they have to do is shed around 4m to become cap compliant...unless a domino gets touched.

Possibly...I can't keep up with all the cap circumvention going on any more.

After Boychuk's LTIR kicks in the Isles will have about 2.25 million in cap space, as roster stands now. That will get Parise signed I believe. Then it's whether Lou can shed Uncle Leo and/ or Hickey?

Not exactly cap circumvention, but yes...he'll be going on LTIR for an extra $6M cushion

But they have to sign/acquire a d-man, so shedding some or all of Komarov/Panik/Johnston/Hickey seems likely

Isles are my pick for the cup or at least EC champs. These are all just re-signings. Who replaces Eberle and Leddy?

In hindsight, Lou should have traded Leddy out first instead of Toews. The defense would have been set

I only consider it circumvention if the LTIR is used as "free" cap space. Now if the Islanders drop salary before the season starts then I don't see a problem. Either way the fancy loophole needs to be fixed next CBA or they might as well drop the salary cap all together.

Lee was out from the middle of last season on through the playoffs so adding Palmieri and getting Lee back more then replaces Eberle. As you said who replaces Leddy is the real question which I’m sure we’ll get an answer for soon seeing that he just revealed these signings.

Yep, Lee is the upgrade with Palms.

As for Leddy I believe they are going Aho, unless Salo or Buldoc have great camps.

Shed Leo, Panik, Hickey and Johnston and there is the 7.5 for Tarasenko, just saying!

I’m sure Lou is being sneaky by not announcing that he’s already signed Parise and Zajac.

But no room on the RW.

Palmieri
Bailey
Wahlstrom
Clutterbuck

The right side is set.

Replacing Leddy to me is MUCH more important then adding another fwd. if the plan is replacing Leddy with Aho I can’t say that I agree with it. I don’t think that’s the plan.
