We are all Canucks.
The announcement should be a long line of every race, agegroup social demographic represented, all wearing Canucks jerseys , with past and present Canucks mixed in . |

It's scary to think that OEL numbers were worse than schmidts in Arizona, and every defenseman that comes here trends downward as far as performance goes.
Really hope Benning is smart enough to avoid paying anything for a declining and expensive "asset" |

There’s a few teams who have continuity with the name of their AHL team I believe. Senators & Devils come to mind. There’s probably a couple/few more?
It will save fans money, they can wear their Canuck (Van) jerseys to Canuck (Abby) games. |

And vice versa... especially if they make the Abby logo "cool"/good like Johnny Canuck, people can wear that to Vancouver games. |

How about Patrick Maroon, hey, three straight Stanley Cups. The guy looks like a beer leaguer out there and he's a three time Cup Champion. I wonder how many other plugs out there are multiple Cup winners.
I think Joey Kocur won three, so did guys like Craig Muni from the Oilers and Aaron Ward with Detroit and Carolina, they have more Cups than Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr FFS, the two greatest players to ever play the game |

Interesting point on Horvat/Benn. I would be okay with them signing Benn, he is an upgrade on Juolevi, Chatfield, Brisebois etc.
I wasn't aware that the buyout period was as long as it is this year, with that in mind, the team might as well hold off, as long as possible, before buying anyone out. |

I doubt the Aquilini family will let Benning buy anyone out after he's already wasted so much of their money, not to mention the millions they lost this year because of Covid. |

I always get a laugh at certain when they talk about plugs like Maroon and Matt Martin etc. And how they shouldn't be in the league, but yet the NHL coaches rely on this players for a solid 10-12minutes every game and provide some much needed physicality. |

I will be very disappointed if they don't buyout Virtanen. He is peanuts in salary. |

Ferland he is paying 7 mil to sit at home . Buying him out 4.3 mil and is paid over four years. They lose cap space though

Fully agree, those guys are a necessary in the league, they play an important role. I merely said plug to say he's not the best of players, but as you say, they serve a purpose.
I remember Kocur playing for the Saskatoon Blades, I was in college but thinking of going to the Western League. He wasn't a great player but he got lots of room because people were afraid of him and he played an important role for the Wings and the Rangers. |

If his contract is insured it doesn't cost them anything. |

Jake will be terminated or bought out. It is a no brainer . Canucks either pay Jake 2.5 mil or 550K

I believe it has been discussed here before that it is not insured.

They have to pay it back, but they'll make good money when Benning is gone. |
