Karine Hains: Tampa Has no Mercy Down 2-0 in the Cup Final, the Canadiens found themselves in a must win situation in game 3 at the Bell Centre. Unfortunately, the Bolts proved to be too strong a foe and the Habs lost 6-3.

How this team even made it to the finals is a mystery. This looks like the easiest series of these playoffs for TB, by far.

My respect for what the Isles could do against Tbay has gone up a lot from games 1-3.

True. There are quite a few teams who would have made this final more competitive than what we're seeing.

What about florida? The screen graphic from last nights game showed florida actually gave vas the worst sv% of any of the rounds. Perhaps montreal needs to bust out those tapes

I don't think you are being outclassed really, except maybe in goal. Vasilievsky has been very good.
Price has been just OK in my view, and for you to win he has to get his A+ game back.
Right now he is at this B- level, which is not going to cut it.
If you can win game 4 and he gets his mojo back, you never know.

Great stuff, Karine. I just wish your day in the press gallery could have had a happier ending.

I think we're seeing the reliance on the top 4 D to handle the load AND pinch isn't working. You're right about Gustafson as well, he was brutal last night. I think the intensity, enthusiasm, and most importantly, fresh legs of Romanov would be worth the risk at this point.

In regards to bringing Tuna in, I have to disagree. As it is, Tampa is burning us HARD on turnovers. As much as Tatar brings a more offensive edge, I don't think removing Lehkonen, Armia, or Byron will be worth the defensive risk. If we want to be a touch bold, and take someone off, I say we replace them with Kulak or Gustafson on the wing, and roll 7 D, to try and stem the flow of constant turnovers by keeping the defense a bit fresher.

Let's hope we can at least get 1 win at home for the fans!

I can't believe that a team in the Stanley Cup Finals has Gus playing on their defense!! Don't you have any better defenders in your organization than that guy?? Of course, he did have a gorgeous primary assist on Tampa's 5th goal! He was brutal in Philly for his short stay here and I'm shocked that the powers to be up there are sill putting him out there every night.

Price is tired, he's fallen back to earth.
Not the same goalie that played the Leafs or Vegas.

Not surprised. Started their run of luck with Tavares going down. Fortunate bounces, suspensions and the NHL’s willingness to roll back the rule book by 30-40 years fueled this “run”.
Now the Habs will be forced to double down on many of the players deemed not good enough when this entire charade started.
Next season, when they start calling penalties again, they will be lucky to finish fifth in the division and out of the playoffs.

They really are a "Fraud" Fleury made them an early Christmas gift by blowing a sure win into a loss and they got the confidence they needed to move on. Price is the only thing that kept them going but one thing Price cannot do is SCORE GOALS. They are a long way from prime time treat

Habs lost this series on the second goal of game 2, with less than a second left in the period. They were dominating that game until that goal and have not even come close to playing the same since.

Technically, they can still win the series.

But at this point, I just hope for 1 win so the Lightning do not celebrate in Montreal.

Goaltending has been the big difference. Vasilevskiy is the undisputed best goalie in the world. Over the last five seasons and postseasons, only had one weak playoffs in 2019. Been consistently good other than that one sweep against CBJ. Having that kind of goaltending is an unfair advantage (on top of the 18% over the cap roster).
