First proposal is probably closest to reality
The 2nd and 3rd ones are far removed. Quantity does not equal quality.

First proposal would be close for me.
I’d like to propose adding Victor Olofsson and Mangiapane to each side of the deal and it’s done for me |
|
|
|
Nice work, Trevor.
To Buffalo:
Matthew Tkachuk
Connor Zary
12th overall pick
I think that's very fair |

Thanks new guy.
The first deal would be the one for me. There’s a huge disconnect in the dressing room and it needs to be addressed.
A #1 line of McJohnny, Eichel, Lindholm would be amazing.
Come in Brad make it happen. |

with Tkachuk wanting to go to st louis rumors out there
none of those packages would get eichel with probably 10 other teams putting in offers
not trying to insult you guys, just being realistic

First proposal is a real good start. You have to wonder which of Columbus, Anahiem or the Kings might try to better it. You only need two bids to create a competitive market. When a deal is finally completed to move Eichel, nobody should be surprised if a third team is called upon to step in and help broker a deal. |

Option #4
JG traded somewhere for picks and prospects (Should be at least a 1st + an elite prospect)
Sean Monahan + the JG trade assets + the Flames 2021 #12 overall for Jack. |

Never talk down an offer, even if it is below your expectations. Offers are always starting points, they can be increased or leveraged through another team into something more substantial.

Just a rumour dude, there is still 2 more years of RFA left & many teams that would covet a guy like him. This 1st offer is the closest because I dont feel comfortable with it. So it's probably the closest. |

The only way the Tkachuk deal works is if it comes with him signing an extension. Buffalo's not giving up Eichel for a player they're going to be forced to trade in a year. |

1) switch zary for Pelletier. We have enough left shots that can play the wing so we should try to keep a legit C prospect if we can
2) absolutely not. Not saying eichel isn’t worth it but Lindholm is too good of a player on one of the best contracts in the league.
3) doesn’t happen for two reasons: backs won’t waive his NTC and valimaki loses value when you take into consideration the likelihood of buffalo selecting power as well as already having Bryson, Samuelson and Johnson all on the left side in the system.
To any buffalo fan skeptical of tkachuck due to the latest rumours if you get 5 years down the road and byfield, turcotte, lafreniere, kakko, or whoever you get wind up as nothing more than a second liner would you still be happy with passing on a bonafide 1st line player in the league. Even if the rumours were true you would still hold the rights to a player that would net you a crap load as well in a trade |

I can't imagine the Sabres having an interest in Tkachuk. I would not think he is the kind of player that is an easy fit for the Sabres in terms of where they are right now.

Assuming GMs will throw anchors, and take advantage of a rookie GM may be a stretch.
If I was Adams, I'd benchmark against similar blockbuster trades.
Karlsson
https://www.capfriendly.c...des/players/erik-karlsson
4 players + 1st + two 2nds
Duchene
https://www.capfriendly.c...ades/players/matt-duchene
two 1sts
2 players
2017 Colorado deal:
1st, 3rd + 2 players
it depends how Buffalo models their rebuild, timeline wise. They probably want two 1sts & a top player with term. Players with term include Lindholm, Tanev, Andersson, Hanifin, Markstrom, Backlund...
And we'd hate to lose Mangiapane - so that's exactly who they'd ask for too..
I propose:
2021 12th, 2022 1st, 2021 2nd
Backlund/Tkachuk + Zary
Trade Monahan for a 1st or RW - that 1st will be hard to get.. even if we end up trading Gaudreau, we should at least get a 1st which will give us currency to acquire Eichel.....
Philips might even get thrown in. I think Sutter was just being himself with his negative/empty review of Philips (Seattle might even take him instead of Gio) |
|

The option number 4 would be fair from buffalers perspective but jg won’t get that return. |

Woah woah woah! That’s a crazy lopsided deal. There’s no guarantee Eichel is going to fully recover from surgery. If that’s the cost to acquire him then I say a hard pass. Potentially 4 1st round pick, a 2nd and Backlund, put down the pipe. |

All do respect I think 2022 and 2023 1sts are off limits for me. As much fun as it is to be optimistic we can’t deny there’s a very real possibility that this whole thing goes down in flames over the next two years. One can only imagine where the sens would be if they never made the duchene trade and I would rather not find out what kind of nightmare it was for their fans to go through that. |

More importantly. Eichel wants out because he wants to join a winning organization. Calgary is a bottom third club. Not go to a team that is not winning any time soon and has just gutted it’s roster to acquire him. |

If the Flames are only trading Tkachuk, picks, and prospects for Eichel, they have as good a shot as anyone in the division next year. If Gaudreau resigns and Eichel is healthy, they'd be competitive for at least the next 5 years. |

If I was the Flames, not sure I'd be excited about any of those offers.
There is a huge risk with Eichel, he has a huge contract and he is not a leader who is going to carry a team. Really talented of course but I just don't think he is THE guy you go all in on.
I think Monahan or Tkachuk and the #12 for Eichel might be fair but I don't even know I would do that if I'm Calgary. |

I'm also surprised how many people are putting Tkachuk in a trade... what's the deal there?
I think the Pens would pay a hell of a lot to get him if he were available. |
|
|
|
Except the Pens don’t have anything worth while to trade. |

As would every other team in the league so rest assured if he gets dealt the price will be HIGH! |
