Canes in 1.5 games. You read that right. Canes win Game 1, Panarin shyte his pants in the middle of the 2nd and game 2, Rangers have no choice but to throw in the towel and take his gear to the nearest Korean dry cleaners. With no other resort, the hockey ops department has to fly Torts in from Columbus mid-series to announce to the media that “he shyte his pants again, what else do you want me to say.” Can’t make it up, just calling how I see it.
For real though, it should be a highly contested series and both squads will put on a show. Both deserve to be playoffs teams and are quality dark horse picks. Wishing luck to both teams and hoping whoever comes out goes on a long run in the dance. Should be one of the better play-in series |

Ek always taking shots at the Canes
It won't be a cake walk by any means for them as you said the Rags have had their number this year. Young up and coming team with nothing to lose could cause some problems but Canes have the playoff experience |

Rangers play so loose and SO aggressive.
If the Canes can keep control of the puck they'll be fine, but if it turns into a track meet look out. |

Assuming CAR’s defense is healthy, I think they’ll win. |

On paper, it's the 'Canes to lose.
Throw out the reg. season results. Especially since most of NYR's success there was due to Lundqvist and he is unlikely to see the ice after warm-ups.
However, that is because we have 2 goalies better than him!
I agree that it should be a great series and whoever plays the winner should be wary!! |

If any team is going to pull the upset in the play-in round, it’s gotta be the Rangers in the East. |

You should probably look up what over/under means. |

Actually, o/u can be applied to any uncertain event that can be quantified.
So, a sports book can offer the following wager
probability Sid is infected player =0.1
Over - 110
Under -110
If identity of player is in fact revealed, then of course value will be either 0 (he is not) or 1 (he is). Those who believe he is not should take the under. Those who believe he is should take the over.
But ok, it would have been clearer to say what are the odds.

I retract my last comment on it being a hard yes.
It all depends on who is in net. If they can sign David Ayres than no. They will ride Ayres all the way to to the Finals and raise the Cup. If they cannot sign him then I stick to my hard ‘yes’ and they will fail. It will be like an 18wheeler going over a cliff.
What do I know though. Dont ask me, ask the Buzztron !! |

The NY Rangers might need to be designated the away team for all playoff games because Madison Square Garden is exempt from property taxes as long as it's the home arena to both the Rangers and Knicks. MSG hasn't paid any property taxes since the Koch administration. It's why the Rangers were the away team for all the Stadium Series games for example.
If that is the case the Canes should have last change all series, which is kind of interesting. It won't necessarily tip the series but it would seem like a legit factor.
