Hey Ben, I was wondering if you think Henrique could be available if the ducks deem zegras nhl ready.
If so, I don’t know if Henrique would waive his NTC but given both teams needs would you consider him for Rasmus ristolainen 1 for 1? |

I definitely think Zegras making the NHL would make Henrique quite expendable for the Ducks. Maybe not right away, but as the season goes on I think it would become more likely, especially ahead of the expansion draft. At that point, they'd have four top-nine centers and Henrique would definitely be the odd man out. Plus, Henrique's NTC only includes a 10-team no-trade list, so there's a great chance he wouldn't even need to waive it.
I actually think there's a great chance they'd make that trade if offered, provided Zegras makes the jump to the NHL. The Ducks are weak on right-side defense and Ristolainen is an upgrade over the RHD they've got, minus Manson.
Thanks for the question! |

This is all you need to know about who won the trade.

Rico has been exactly as advertised and when the deal was made ... we needed scoring and a C so so bad it hurt.
Add to that he can play wing also and he seems to score very timely goals.. He's steady eddy ...
Was bummed to lose Vats for sure, gotta give to get though.
A hockey trade that worked for both sides. |

Since Vats arrived, he was easily our top D (not saying much, but he was). Rico was a fan favorite, especially during Movember, but his scoring was massively inconsistent. His upcoming contract was a major source of concern, and I think the Devs took a very smart route trading for a guy who was inked for a couple season, and flipped him as a rental for a solid return. This trade certainly helped both teams, as you guys were stacked with D, and the Devs were desperate to add a legitimate top 4 D. Severson aside, the Devs are still desperate for good defenders. |

That's what been so nice for us... His scoring, esp. goals is 20 - 25 a year and that's just fine. He's just a guy you never have to worry about... You know what you're getting all the time. |
