I expect the same kind of results we have seen since Mantha went down with injury. Wings having trouble scoring more than 2 goals, not doing well on the PP while getting scored on the PK and 5 on 5.
I know at some point they are going to win a few here and there with teams thinking it's an easy win and not giving a proper effort but this team just hasn't looked good at all since Mantha went down. At least with Mantha they had a line going with the 2nd line chipping in once in a while but that is not the case anymore without Mantha. |

I think it's just the same assumption going forward for the rest of the season, they will likely lose, not score enough goals. The final score will look worse when Blashill pulls the goalie too early and allows at least 1 EN goal against.
That is something i've been considering, as they are saying there's a possibility that Detroit this season may finish with one of the worst goal differentials in NHL history. Do they track empty net goals? I'd be curious to see how many empty net goals have gone against Detroit this season, compared to the teams they are chasing for that record. |

Ok, thanks for the input. Trying to balance keeping content coming and interesting. Sorry about that. If a post doesn’t seem to be going over well I try to bring something else to the table. I’ll try and be more sensitive and give you guys a better voice |

I agree. It turns out Mantha brings a lot more to the table than scoring. When he’s on the ice his teammates are more confident and seem to be more focused/calm. There are many for facets to his game and presence than he was originally credited with. Great feedback. |

That’s a really good question. I will see if I can get ahold of a stats person to clarify. My assumption is that they do. They track even strength, pp, short handed and cycle goals for sure. To be fair, though, the empty net goal is typically symptomatic of the fact that this team has already let in 3 or 4 |

I’m with Feds on this. If feel like a blog every other day outside of game days or big news is a good mix. Allows time to converse and trash Buffalo fans trying to pawn off their poop defensemen on us. |

Good blog, any chance you want to blog for the Pens too? We could use a new blogger. |

Thanks for that! I really appreciate the kind words. Pens are a tough team to cover. So much talent but the injury bug has been brutal |

Yeah, no doubt. I'm just hoping that they finally get healthy by the tim the playoffs roll around. Maybe with all of these injuries that might actually have some players that are bit rested compared to some of the competition. |

Pitt always seems to have that ability to gut it out. Rutherford is probably working the phones, more like punishing the phones, night and day. He’s never scared to add a piece for sure. Guentzel looks like a legitimate star more and more and his post season production is mind boggling. Some good pieces there for sure |

It’s cool, brah. Just glad to have a pretty good blogger who interacts with his fans and doesn’t quote MLive for 3/4 of his blogs unlike that douchewad Bob Duff. |

Not a great start to this one. Wings down 2-0, Malkin looks like a varsity player taking on the JV |

That’s an understatement. I’m getting real sick of Keats trying to sugarcoat everything. He needs to man up and just admit we are pretty (frank)ing bad. |

I honestly would prefer a new broadcast team more so than a new coach lmao. |

I feel bad for Keats. Before the games these guys hear from management about what to focus on. Their hands are tied watching this mess. I can’t imagine how they are going to try and spin this one |

I’m still okay with Daniels, Murphy and Kal.. bring in some new blood outside of them, though. |

it is tough to figure this team out. Nothing for 40 mins and then 3 goals. Not enough to win a game |
