He's playing well.

Once the team gets used to the system, I'd like to think flanking him with speedy wingers in Kerfoot and Kapanen makes a lot of sense. If he's up for the 15 minutes / night, then I'd play him until he shows it's a problem.

He's a slowed down first line player. He thinks the game at the top level, so he should be able to support that. That said, Marleau struggled on the 3rd line last year and he is a much better skater, so we'll see if he can sustain it.

I want to see Engvall at center, with Kerfoot and Kapanen.

Still going to temper my expectations some here because there will be some growing pains learning new systems but it's hard not to be encouraged from the mood that you saw the players were in last night. I thought it was quite telling just a day after the coach was fired!

I know its only one game. But we also saw how frustrating Babs was in reagards to certain things and just how stubborn he was.

Same ol thing with Ron Wilson and his treatment of Kadri and Sundin. He needed to go when he did.

they just had everything come together at once and ran with it.

that's how you win the cup.

its not like being the presidents trophy winner makes you the cup winner. it's about getting into the playoffs and that being when your team comes together and plays their best hockey vs the opponents presented.
