Backes is a good guy. I'm happy for him.
I'm also happy the Blues didn't resign him. The dollars and the years didn't make sense.
I would be happier still if he were to get to play against his old team.

At least both teams will be off for waaaaaaaay to long. Nice job NHL, not many extra people will watch game on Monday because it’s a holiday. |

Id rather have Jumbo Joe coming back to Boston, but yeah, having Backes lift the cup in St. Louis would be a wonderful sight.

Would be a great story to see Backes hoist the cup, especially against his old team. Only thing that could make it more of a cinderella story for him would be to retire right after he wins, amiright?
