This team has talent. JVR back in 10 days. As much as I am happy both goaltenders are done after this season, this start isn't their fault.
To use my favorite saying, you can't win when you can't score. You need to score 4 goals a game, consistently.
I think they will. Wish we could bring Tim Kerr back |

Solid point of view. But not one many in the City of Brotherly Love are feeling right now. Saturday was ugly in that arena. |

Thanks for the article Mr. Greenberg. A solid argument, but I would say that after 4 years of the same kind of start and same kind of problems, the coaching staff should probably be the focus. Their systems simply don't work, their roster decisions are perennially suspect, and the power play and penalty kill get worse every year in spite of having the same players on it.
Also, on a linguistic note, you are using the Trojan Horse reference incorrectly. A Trojan Horse is not the same thing as a straw man or a scapegoat. Either of those terms are probably what you are looking for. The Trojan Horse was presented as a gift by the Achean Greek army when they "left" their siege of Troy in the Iliad. They hid inside of it, and then murdered all of the Trojans. A scapegoat is the goat Abraham slaughtered in place of Isaac when God gave him permission not to sacrifice his son. Finally, a straw man is an argument that can be easily burnt because it has little, or no, content.

When Hexy signed Hakstol, I was willing to give him a chance. After 4 years, I wouldn't mind seeing Hakstol go. At times I think he is in over his head. Lappy was a warrior on the ice, but he must go as the PK coach. I know the coaches don't have a ton of talent on this team, but I still think it's time for the coaches to go. |
