Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks choose leadership by committee for 2018-19 season The Vancouver Canucks have chosen not to name a captain for the 2018-19 season, awarding the As to Bo Horvat, Alex Edler, Chris Tanev and Brandon Sutter with the regular-season set to begin on Wednesday.

As much as I would have been on board with Bo as Captain, I don't blame management for not doing it this year. This year is going to be ugly, and no reason for Bo to bear any more weight on his shoulders than he already does. I imagine the Sedins will have their jerseys retired next year for the 50th anniversary, Bo will be named Captain, and we will see some new 3rd jersey to celebrate 50 years of mediocrity

Why do you think he couldn't move Gagner? I think that its pretty self-evident.

Benning made a mistake signing him but it takes 2 to tango and JB was not in a position of strength...

I'm okay with no Horvat for Captain at this point, he's got enough on his plate as it is.

Horvat on Fortnite: Yeah, that's definitely a no-go on the road. No more Fortnite. No more bringing video games on the road. It's strictly team meals, team dinners, and hanging out with the guys. So we put an end to that #canucks⁠ ⁠

More Horvat: In my opinion, there's better ways to spend time on the road whether it's hanging with the guys in the room, or going to a movie with the guys. There's a lot of cool cities we visit and to be cooped up in your room all night, playing Fornite, is a waste of your time
