Cashman tried to gauge Paul's eyes during a fight on the ice, and it escalated from there. |

Sounds like Tocchet's lucky they had this after he fought Chynoweth...although I think he'd be able to handle himself. |

The gate had originally been preserved at Xfinity Live at the Spectrum Grille but after the changeover to 1100 Social, the gate was relegated to a pile of stuff designated for recycling or disposal. Brian rescued it and is in temporary custody of it until the Flyers figure out a new, more permanent destination for it.
How does this even happen? Thankfully someone was paying attention. |

Holmgren went to the Garden as a visitor and met Cashman's girlfriend, Helen. He hit it off with her and ended up bringing her back with him when he left town. Upon learning about Helen running off with another man, Cashman vowed to come to the Spectrum, take back Helen, and make Holmgren pay for what he had done. |

Didn't he say she was a dyke, and Cashman chased him across the ice?

Funny...I was just googling the topic and a NYDN article from 1996 reports that the gate didn't even work when needed
PHILADELPHIA NHL suspensions seem a virtual guarantee after last night's Flyers-Canadiens game left Philadelphia defenseman Petr Svoboda in Pennsylvania Hospital and two players in hot water for fighting in the hallway outside the locker rooms. Flyers battler Shawn Antoski and Montreal enforcer Donald Brashear engaged in a corridor confrontation after being ordered from the ice at 19:37 of the second period in a game the Flyers won in overtime, 3-2. Eyewitnesses said punches were thrown and landed before security personnel could break up the fracas. Antoski stormed up the hallway from the ice, lumbered down the rubber matting toward the visiting dressing room and yanked open the security gate that had been put in place since the Flyers' Paul Holmgren and Bruins' Wayne Cashman did hallway battle here years ago. The gate is designed to deter exactly such incidents, but it was of no effect as tempers raged after the Svoboda injury. |

So Cashman gathered a fleet of 1000 cars, and they made their way to the edge of the Schuylkill River where Cashman demanded the return of his wife, or he vowed to burn the Spectrum to the ground. He brought with him many great warriors, such as Terry O'Reilly and Stan Jonathan. He also brought Mike Milbury with him. But after being unable to breach the walls of the Spectrum, the defeated Bostonians got back into their assorted vehicles and departed, never to return. |

I always liked Antoski, but going after a guy Brashear's size off the ice seems like mandess. Props to him. |

The Gate, another Spectrum classic!
Man, I miss that building, you felt like you were right on top of the ice. I gotta think between Flyers games and concerts, I must of been in that joint at least 500 times.
It was like my second home.

Why would it be so hard to find a place for the gate at Xfinity Live?
I realize that my age probably obliges me to consider Xfinity Live a big disappointment, but the entire place stands of the grounds of the former Spectrum.
How in the blue (frank) can one of those geniuses that runs Xfinity NOT be able to find something to do with that gate, which actually comes with a cool story and is part of the lore of the building they tore down to make room for a building that practically gives me a headache everytime I walk in? |

I don't know what is more terrible about this story.
That Avery has little toy dogs he sends to a groomer or that the groomer expects to be tipped.
Is that a common thing to tip a dog groomer? Never taken a dog to a groomer. |

I dont know what annoys me about players milling around and chatting after a game with the other team, but it really does. I mean, if your a competitive person, you do not want to hang around with a team that just beat you.... no sir. I dont like it. |
