I was pretty blown away when I saw the trade. Panik isn't terrible by any means if that helps you feel better at all.

Was very surprisd by the trade. Duclair is young and seem like head and shoulders the best player in the deal.

Chayka on Anthony Duclair: "It’s gone back for a few years now where the team wasn’t particularly happy with the player and the player wasn’t particularly happy with the team... There's some thing that I think should stay behind closed doors."

The comments by Chayka are also pretty weird. Even saying it should stay behind closed doors. Why say anything at all then.

Yeah the trade is a bit of a head scratcher.

Anyways, its a shame things got to the point where you decided it was best to not comment on your threads anymore. I did not always agree with you but, the interaction was a lot of the fun.

This was a terrible trade for the Coyotes. They could have done much much better than Panik, a guy that had 1 solid season playing with great players. His points are down this season and even though the Coyotes have a couple of good forwards, they have nowhere near the talent the Hawks do up front. If I was a Yotes fan I'd be livid.

His goal Tuesday night was the first one he's scored since October 21st.

He's grossly overpaid.

This is a great trade for the Yotes.

Would you expect anything else when it's the best GM in hockey making the deal?

Can't believe Chayka couldn't find a better deal than that for Duclair...

So dumb. Duclair is a legit NHL forward. Panik is hanging on. Stupid trade.

Panik is at least an NHL player who doesn't have to play top 6 minutes to do decent. I don't think Duclair is going to last much longer in the NHL. Maybe he gets a breath of life over in Chicago, but I'm getting the impression that Arizona didn't like this guy in a bottom six role and he wasn't good enough in a top six role.

Wouldn't wrap my head around this one... Duclair is just not that good. There are a lot of Duclairs to be had out there... barely top-6 players are abundant in the AHL. There aren't as many competent NHL roster players as there are barely top-sixers (who aren't that competent in limited situations)... so to me, this was a nothing-for-something deal for the Coyotes, and a half scratched lottery ticket for the Hawks.

I have been a staunch defender of Chayka with all of his moves. He has at least tried to make good hockey trades given the limitations of the budget he has here and I have liked almost all of them (Crouse and the Bolland contract hasn't worked out too well, but I got it at the time). But this trade is total garbage. When Duke had a somewhat decent center, Hanzal, and played with him and Domi they actually looked like a fringe first line, but at worst a solid second line. Then we bring back Vrbata for some stupid reason, put him with Hanzal and Duke suffers. When they put with Richardson (yuck), or even Martinhook (double yuck), what did they think would happen?

Is he a defensive liability at times? Sure is. Does he free lance from the system at times? Yep. But, you don't give away a 22 year old with his speed and skill for a bag of pucks. As a season ticket holder, I have started selling all of my remaining tickets for the year and am on the fence about renewing next year. The fact that guys like Schenn, Richardson, Rinaldo, Cousins, Martinhook etc are taking ice time away from Strome, Merkely etc. is beyond frustrating.

Anyway, great get for the Hawks. Kind of makes up for us stealing Hammer and pawning Murphy off on them

Duclair will last in the nhl but as a journey man, probably that 3rd line guy who can score the odd 10-15 goals.

If you don't mind me asking, are you able to sell them off?

Are you taking a hit on the price?

No problem at all. I have been able to sell most. I was able to unload the Leafs, Preds, Oilers tomorrow and a Wild game later in the season thus far. For some reason my Rangers tix would't sell so I just went to the game. I typically make some money on every deal, as my season ticket price per seat is only about $25 per seat. I sit in the upper level, but am in the 2nd row on the aisle on the blue line where the Coyotes attack twice. I sold my Leafs tix for 45 a piece, the Oilers went for 35, and same for the Preds and Wild. We play the Hawks here again in February and I normally can make good money on those, typically around 85-95 a piece.

Talking with fans from other teams at the arena, we have some of the cheapest prices out there. I was talking to a guy from Edmonton who pays 11k Canadian for 2 seats right next to a huge pole. While I am thankful they are so cheap, it doesn't make it any better when the on ice product is as bad as it has been this year, Plus the people who run the concession raised all the prices, so a 25 oz. beer costs 12.50.

I'll probably renew, mainly on the hope that when/if we get a new arena I'll get priority selection at a discount.

I think Bowman just made up for Waiving Cody Franson-Which you were pitching a fit about(also a great move BTW)
And now he fleeces your boy wonder Chalkboard

So which is it? Is Bowman 10x more dumb then "anything you have ever written"
Or is he a genious for the Duclair trade?
