The Sabres are in second last place because they do not have enough NHL caliber talent. Period.
Pretending injuries to a group defensemen who, outside of #55, should and could be in the AHL, if not for their contractual status. Gorges will be gone next year. Bogosian would be too, if they could ever find a sucker to take his bloated contract. Beaulieu will soon wear out his welcome, just as he did with the Habs.
If noted horse trader and gunslinger, Tim Murray hadn't traded away all those picks and had drafted better, they wouldn't be in this bind. 30th overall |

1,000,000% agreed! And the cycle of losing continues. The funnier part of all this is that the Sheeple Fans are clones of the musicians continuing to play their instruments on the Titanic while it sinks. Its amazing. I only follow this organization from a distance (ie. internet, blogs) because they are virtually unwatchable.
This team $ucks so bad, that they would drive a sane person turn to psychotropic meds to follow them, and that does an injustice to truly mentally handicapped people.
ps...Garth- If you care about your personal reputation-you will have far more credibility as a journalist instead of being the head cheerleader if you simply just start calling them for what they ARE and stop making excuses for them...please stop serving me Chicken $hit and telling me it Chicken Soup!!! |

Ya ok well Timmy franked the club up! ..he rushed the rebuild and it's showing the results in some ways.. to say the least! But..their's peices in place and I'm sure management will recognize what needs there is! I personally think that they could still go on a run and challenge for a wild card ..I know ..but if they can make a trade for a dman? And possibly another forward? They still might have a chance? Eichel will probably Finnish in the top 10. .and with that talent theirs always hope to turn the season around! ..and no I'm not drunk! ..we'll not that drunk! ..good luck fellas |

Just about all of the day one HB contributors have moved on to bigger and better things, several of them within the mainstream hockey media; everyone but Garth. That should tell you all you need to know about his personal reputation. |

Wow. The injuries to the D is why we're losing?
Garth, you continue to take a pounding by readers. And smart readers at that.
I've come to the conclusion you carry on this way because of one of two reasons.
1. The old adage "any type of advertisement is good advertisement, even if it's negative". You must be getting 'clicks' in an industry that is based upon it. Which, if is correct, you sold your soul, and how can you even look at yourself in the mirror?
2. You're not very bright, and are extremely ignorant, and that you really don't see what even the most novice of fans can see -- the fact they lack talent, and TM left this team with a HUGE hole to climb out of.
I thought there may be a third option. You are a raging-alcoholic and write only at the peak of your drunkenness. BUT even complete drunks make a lot more sense and think more logically than you normally do -- so that can't be it. |

Garth's continuous optimism is a thing of wonder.
Reminds me of the Black Knight in Monty Pythons Holy Grail. |
