Yes, that's the year of the potential lockout. There's a restriction on how much a player's salary can change in any given season; apparently that's the lowest he can go with his contract structured as it is, without signing bonuses.

Regarding the new 2min penalty for wrongly challenging offside calls is a delay of game penalty as it should be IMO. I don't watch coaches slowing the game down.

Im wondering who does JB think the 8-10 playing in Utica this year who could be future NHLers are. That doesnt include OJ, Pettersson, Jasek, Zhunekov, Lockwood, Gaudette. So does he believe that he has come up with that many NHL players from 4 seasons? He might be a bit crazy on that one.

Couldn't be happier spending the next 6 years here in Vancouver!!This is where my heart is and where I want to be. Let's get going

The Horvat contract is fair & 6yrs about right.
Hard to predict to far ahead for other players post ELC's but it's looking good.

Looking forward to the Young Stars & OJ/BB will be very good IMO.
My curiosity is on the others eg MacEwen & who else stands out.

OK, Nucks fans....do you guys like this deal? I'm sure I'll be labelled a "troll" here, but my honest opinion is that this is way too high. Horvat was a 20-goal scorer last season, getting tonnes of quality minutes because he played for a team with very few offensive weapons

And he'll be making $5.5M for the next six years???

The Leafs just signed Connor Brown, another 20 goal scorer with arguably a higher offensive ceiling, to a two-year deal at $2.1M per. I get that you've gotta pay more to secure a player for the long-term, but I just don't see Horvat as a $5.5M guy
