Thank you Carol!
Juolevi's attitude toward making the team is literally what EVERY prospect should be like heading into training camp. Work hard in the off season, have confidence in your abilities to make the team, address where you will play in the event you don't make the team, but after. |

At least it's only mono. Luck punched us in the stomach, could have been a kick in the balls. |

Not the end of the world, lets face it, Dahlen isn't going to leap Boeser for a spot. AHL/Vaxjo Lakers are the best for him at this point. Let the kid sit out, get him healthy, send him to play with Pettersson |

Oh why did I pick the canucks to root for? Should have picked my team based on how cool their jersey was... Vancouver would have never made the list. |

Thanks Carol!
I have a suspicion that Boeser's inclusion at camp wasnt entirely his decision. I think the Canucks are wanting a really strong showing at this tournament to sell the future, so they are stacking their best in order to look superior to Oiler/Flame prospects |

That's what pisses me off. The fact that Dahlen has to leapfrog another prospect. I don't care if he's ready or not. I'm going to be selfish.
I want to cheer for my team.
I want to be excited for the season regardless of the potential wins and loses.
I want to see passion and hustle and speed and determination on the ice regardless of how reckless and defensively irresponsible it may be.
I want to see players fighting for their roster spot and pay cheque with the knowledge that a bigger payday is ahead, not behind them.
I can't do that with this year's roster the way it's shaping up other than a few players. Oh well, there's always the season after this one. Or maybe the one after that. |

Gaudette, Lockwood, Pettersson, Palmu, Rathbone, and now Dahlen, the prospects tournament won't be getting a true showing with or without Dahlen anyway. I get what you are saying though.

I still hope he goes AHL route. There are enough complaints that the twins cannot be separated, so I'd like Dahlen to find some chemistry with JV, Goldobin, and whomever else is down there |

If the team actually sells a couple of more vets for more picks at this TDL then eventually you will see a deeper prospect pool, less of a need for stopgap vets and more internal competition.
The issue is that they should have been using the sign and flip strategy since the day took over since of tossing around draft picks/prospects to "fill the age gap". They filled that age gap with a bunch of role players and some overpaid vets. None of the guys they brought in will be apart of the core once the team is on the rise again.
Better late, than never. But still stupid as (frank) for delaying the inevitable and trying that stupid ass age gap nonsense.
"Hey the last GM really (frank)ed me over with his bad drafting/development, maybe I should trade away my future picks and current prospects to try and patch that up by trading for cast-offs from other teams, and then leave myself thinner that I should be in the future with my own picks/prospects" |

It really doesn't matter to me what he chooses. I would like to think the AHL would be better suited (smaller ice, bigger/faster/more skilled competition). Yet, I don't think him playing top line minutes for Vaxjo with Pettersson is worse than playing up and down the lineup in Utica. He will get development either way |

That's cool but I'm still pissed off. That kid had so much (frank)ing potential.
Jesus, that kind of tragedy rarely happens. Who was the last? I think the leafs had a really promising goalie who was killed after he was drafted. I can't even think of a similar situation.
Anyway, sorry I brought it up. |

I'm not confident that JB is savvy enough to turn vets into assets at the TDL. Knowing dim jim he'll throw in a pick just to make a move so not to look completely lost outside of the actual draft.

Lindberg was the Flyers up and coming goalie that ran his sports car into a wall |

Depends on what you mean by tragedy. Wasn't a vehicle accident but Cherepanov was the Ranger prospect that had the heart condition |

I started looking and I'm mixed up. Lindberg it was. My memory is fading.
But I did learn something today. I didn't know that Terry Sawchuk was killed by a team mate over living expenses.
"Sawchuk and Rangers teammate Ron Stewart, both of whom had been drinking, fought over expenses for the house they rented together on Long Island, New York. Sawchuk suffered severe internal injuries during the scuffle from falling on top of Stewart's bent knee."

By tragedy I mean death. Injury or illness is unfortunate by death is, well, death. |
