Well it's definitely not a sideways move considering the only way corrado was only playing if half the dmen were unable to play. From the limited time I've watched the wings marchenko didn't stand out much which is probably a good thing.

Marchenko played enough to be exposed in the expansion draft. No way Corrado was getting there. I think this is the main reason they pick Marchenko up. They need to expose at least one eligible d. I Don't expect him to play much.

Pair him with Ziatzev on second pairing and all we need is Trouba and Reilly on 1st pair.........makes Gardiner expendable, maybe part of the Trouba transaction. That would give us a nice 1,2 and the 3rd pairing would be a very strong 3rd pairing with some very nice youth coming up in Neilson, Dermott etc.
