This is going to be a barn burner tonight - can't wait for puck drop -
Silf just needs to get right and relax until after the break no need to rush him back -
Good for Stephen - he played hard and well for us - glad Jersey going to give him a shot -
Yes lets see what the youngster can do in prime time - |

Tell me about Nosenen. - TheJerseyDevil1
Solid player, big body who can hit. Nothing fancy, he'll be a solid 3rd line wing for the Devils. |

Hes not as fast as palmeri if thats who your tri g to compare him too . But hes got size and some skill . Needs at least 1 more year of nhl experience to make a definite call . But i wonder if he is a cap victim . Because nate Thompson is coming back . |

He's also RFA status next year. One less contract for Murray to have to negotiate I guess. |

The All-Star break is here. I was watching the pregame show yesterday, and John Ahlers was talking about the condensed schedule. The times where there has been 2 days between games have been too few and far between. I'm not saying anything new, but interval training with that amount of physicality takes its toll, and I can't blame the team for checking out a couple days ago, even though they wanted to finish this chapter on a high note.
Corey Perry hasn't been himself. It hasn't been for lack of effort, but between the World Hockey Championships and the World Cup of Hockey, the guy is probably spent. Moreover, I've seen 200ft Perry, instead of 167ft Perry. These things add up, and when a older player is struggling, breaking out of a slump can prove more difficult than in years prior. Sorry Mr. Perry, but a Hart trophy isn't in the cards this year. What's important is that you rediscover your scoring touch, so you can bring the fire in April, May and June.
In other news, the Bobby Ryan trade netted the Ducks Jakob Silfverberg and Nick Ritchie now that Stephan Noesen has parted ways. Bobby Ryan was traded at his ceiling, and GM Bob Murray got a good deal, even though Noesen didn't work out. Top tier depth guys are very important for sustainable success.
Enjoy the break! |

I agree with the trade. I would basically trade silf for bobby Ryan now 1 for 1. To get Ritchie out of it is even more of a plus. Trade worked out well IMO.

Speaking of trades Murray needs to get off his ass and move some D men for a difference maker up front - Yes Colorado I'm thinking of you or Tampa or whoever - he knows he can't possibly keep all these kids and the time is now to pull the trigger for Duchene or Lande or Tyler or some other up front finisher - |

Heck yeah . The trade negotiations are always cat and mouse though . I mean for any of those guys I'd give up a decent package to get . Landeskog in particular has 4 years left on his contract . And that makes him appealing to a team like the ducks . It would help manage our cap beter than Duchesne. He only has 1 year left . So we would have to renegotiate a contract . |
