Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks hit the road on 5-game losing streak after loss to Caps The Vancouver Canucks juggled their lines and scored two goals, but lost their fifth straight game as they fell 5-2 to the Washington Capitals on Saturday night at Rogers Arena.

Not surprised about Hamhuis, glad we didn't bring him back.

I agree, Edler is playing well but he is expendable now that we have Edler Jr in Stecher. We should be looking at trading one of our blue liners for some offence, doesn't necessarily have to be Edler.

I think we are now deeper on the right side, Tanev, Stecher, Gudbranson, Tryamkin, Larsen...

The challenge is gambling on trading a dman for offense and injuries happen and our defense all of a sudden doesn't look so good.

If we were to trade Tanev, we have to get a forward the same age or a little younger that scores and can play in the top 6 and score. and it would help if that forward had a bit of edge to go with the scoring.

Is it better for the future to roll with what we have and see where we are at the end of the season? Is it too early to make any moves?

Any chance a switch gets flipped and guys like Granlund, Baertschi and Eriksson start scoring?

Wifey and I watched Sausage Party last night, I'm not much of an animation fan but it had its moments.

If you get value back it is never too early IMO

Maybe we can trade Tanev to NJD for Hall

I do think the scoring is going to come…problem is we might be 4-10-1 by then.

If Eriksson Sticks with Sutter for 5-6 games I can see things coming. Granlund has had some good looks just needs to start finishing.

Baer-Bo-JV will get rolling too we just can't wait for it to happen until the second half like last season.

Our 4th line is a mess not sure what to even say about it. Skille and Gaunce do not complement each other in any way and if Zalewski is the best we can do there we are in serious trouble.

Kane for Sbisa + would be good right now.

Carol....I guess the team did technically hang in with the Caps last night, however, despite the relatively close shot-count, the Canucks were completely outclassed by a much better Capitals team in the first and second periods. Especially the second period.

Like always the better team relaxed in the 3rd and sat back a bit.

I thought Virtanen and Horvat were having poopty games, they didn't look good, then all of a sudden they seemed like they found something and started to create.

Even if we traded for an offensive forward, there is a good chance they would start out slow and take a little bit to get used to the systems and get the chemistry going.

I think Sven will get rewarded here soon, he's been buzzing.

And I still think JV should go to Utica for his development but there isn't anyone in Vancouver that can fill his skates. I wish Grenier hadn't disappeared and Lebate didn't get suspended.

I saw Dallas take on Wpg last thursday. In the third period my friend mentioned how hamhuis wasn't on the ice for the stars. He was actually playing but even I didn't notice till the start of the 2nd period. Completely anonymous. Dallas went with a much younger D this year. You can tell, lack of experience.

Benning takes a lot of heat but most of his discards bomb on their new team. Hamhuis still sucks, Shink is brutal and McCann has done nothing. Nill is an idiot. Russel and now hamhuis
