Shayne Gostisbehere's lineup spot is also safe, despite some defensive issues in the early going of the season

I cannot wait until Ghost is taken out of the lineup for Gudas tomorrow and the rest stay in.

What is that I see? Jake Voracek tied for #5 in the NHL in points? Claude Giroux tied for #10 and #1 in assists?

Pretty Elite™, I'd say.

Gudas in, and Streit out I hope..although we all know that won't happen. I said it on the last thread but he is likely the worst defenseman on this team, Amac is close. But Streit has been terrible in all 3 zones of the ice and turns the puck over on every shift it seems. He has lost a step for sure. I am guessing that Manning will come out although he has earned to keep playing.

I very much doubt that Manning is pulled from the lineup. It will be one of Streit, MacDonald or Schultz.

I'm pretty sure if someone wanted MacDonald, he'd be traded in the next 5 minutes.

As for the other two, with Del Zotto and Gudas starting to enter back into the fold, and with someone like Manning playing his way into a permanent spot, I don't think they have an exact date on it if someone came calling. MDZ, Gudas, Ghost, Provy, and it appears Manning seem to all be in the starting lineup moving forward, which means there is only one spot open plus the press box. And I imagine Morin is going to be huffing and puffing at the door by the TDL. I don't think Schultz or Streit are safe from being traded at any point if there is interest.

The way they are playing right now, no one is going to want them. they are showing no value to anyone.

Every year GMs make a dozen+ trades of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks for over-the-hill players, especially d men, banking on their veteran leadership and past play, even in spite of their present mediocrity. If there's a veteran player to be traded, there's a GM -- hell, a few of them -- who would trade for him. I have no doubt. And Schultz has just been Schultz so far: safe, reliable, and reliably mediocre. No different than last year. Streit may yet put up some points, and that coveted "veteran powerplay quarterback" will become tantalizing to some team.

Tied for last in the league in goals scored.

Lets not pretend like Giroux has played good enough. He is our best player and has continued his rather meek play from the playoffs last year.

He is capable of so much more and without it we won't make the playoffs.

Nothing fixes a slump like playing the Sabres. Our "rebuild" is done, last place, no hope, no goalie, no scoring, no draft picks lieft to trade, no assets left to trade, two #2 overalls that do nothing...

prediction??? 4-1 Flyers

The Flyers need to get better play at ES from a number of players. I thought last night, the Giroux line had a poor game. Especially Simmonds and Schenn. Giroux needs to pick up his offensive game at ES. I don't think Couturier had a great game either. Voracek and Konecny are carrying this team at ES in terms of pressure and creating. Weber sure looked like he's in decline last night.
