What is your impression of Carlo Ty? He is receiving a lot of praise from both players and coaching staff. |

Perfect model of what defensemen with size have to be in the new NHL. Still needs to work on some gap control things, but overall, hard to hammer the kid. He's done everything you've expected and more out of a 19-year-old on a first pairing. |

I'm sure being mentored by Chara helps things along too. |

Do you think Pasta is for real? Is Filip Forsberg a good comparable? |

First of all, general fanager has left us for Vegas.
Second, this may be stupid, but I kind of hope Pasta slows down a bit and the points spread towards Backes, Krej, Berg, Marchand a bit more.
We need to resign Pasta and Spooner next year, and, god willing, have acquired a Fowler, Shattenkirk, etc.
According to cap friendly we have 10 million in space next season. Without Spooner, Pasta, Moore, Morrow, Acciari, Czarnik, Schaller, and Liles under contract.
8 forwards signed, and 7 defensemen. Assuming status quo and not taking expansion into consideration, that's 10 million for 4 forwards. (As I said, there's gotta be an upgrade in the near future on the back end as well, so hopefully getting rid of K Miller or McQuaid's contract and spending an extra 3-3.5 on whoever comes in).
The way these contracts are going to guys like Monahan, Gaudreau, etc. I'm afraid that Pasta and/or Spooner are going to be loking for upwards of 6 million per year if they achieve around 70 points each.
I love Pasta and want him to light it up. But unless he is willing to take a bridge deal, for next season when Hayes and Chara's contracts free up another 6 million, it is dangerous for us...

If pasta doesnt take a bridge, I'm sure Sweeney will find a new town for him to live in. Spoons will be due for a raise, I believe his current contract is a bridge. Maybe he will sign another one for slightly more money but not a big payday. Who knows. I'm just enjoying their time in Boston. However short, or long it might be.

Right there with ya. I'm just enjoying their play now, just in case one of them has to pack their bags later.

He wouldn't trade Pastrnak for Shattenkirk and he won't for Trouba, at least from what I've gathered, so I don't think you have to worry about them trading him. They'll find some middleground, too, because Pastrnak does love it here. |

OK so Lone Wolf and Bergy skating today, Obviously Bergy centering Marshy & Pasta and Krejci gets Backes with Spoons - (3 natural centers there) or do you have Spooner move back to 3rd line Ctr, Love to see Backes & Belesky play with Krejci
who is out on D, Ogara or CMiller ? |

They actually put Spooner on the fourth line today and put Heinen with Backes and Krejci, so who knows. |

Why?? We have 5 fourth liners on the team, why put Spooner there?
What has Heinen shown through three games that he should be on the 2nd line? I like what someone said about Belesky on the 2nd if Spooner isn't going to be there.
Marchand Bergy Pasta
Belesky Krejci Backes
Heinen Spooner Hayes
Nash Moore Acciari
Czarnik
Actually, Ty, what is going on with Czarnik? They called up Schaller to replace him or what? Someone has to be sent down if Bergeron is back right?

I'm hoping Vegas takes Hayes or K. Miller... Just a dream probably.
But if Spooner takes around 4.5/5 long term and Pasta bridges around 3.5/4 like Kucherov, then we're in the clear..

I think they just sat him for a game to watch from above. They like doing that with a young guy if they think he's pressing too hard and what not. I think Heinen on the second line would be more of a simply trying to get something out of him while he's up with the NHL group. |
